***Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group AGM 2018***

Thanks to everyone who attended tonight’s AGM at the Longtower.

As Chair for the BGSG Committee I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our Committee members for their contributions since the Committee was formed.

Our Committee has a strong relationship with the Brandywell Greyhound Racing Company and Track Lotto and we would also like to thank them for their support as we all work towards common goals.

Our fundraising and sponsorship success is thanks to all the BGSG members, and our wider community of family and friends who have supported us generously throughout the year with both their time and money.

More details about tonight’s meeting will follow over the next few days/weeks (please follow us on FB: Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group)

The Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group (BGSG) and Mount Cashel Kennels 500 yards A5 (no backgraders) will start on 26th November 2018.

£500 will be added to the prize fund (from BGSG membership funds from 2017-2018).

The Brandywell Greyhound Racing Company have agreed to add £200 to the prize fund.

Martin Tucker will donate a free service to one of Mount Cashel Kennels sires (Track sires only. Not coursing sires. Offer expires 31st December 2019) for the competition winner. This offer is transferable to any brood bitch registered to the winning owner.

This is an ‘exclusive’ competition for those 175 members who paid BGSG membership for Sept 2017-Sept 2018 AND who are current members for 2018 - Sept 2019.

The competition will go ahead on the 26th Nov (weather permitting) as long as a minimum of 6 entries are received. All entry fees will go towards the overall prize fund.

Mount Cashel Track sires include: Ballymac Big Mike, Ela Ela Genie, Farloe Tango, Sidaz Jack, Cometwopass.

A laminated copy of last year’s members will be available at the track. I also have a list if anyone wants to double check they paid last year’s membership fee.

“World Mental Health Day” (10th October).

Annual donation to Charity from Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group 2018

10% of our annual membership fees* will be donated to a local Charity.

In our efforts to engage and support our local community, this year, the donation will be made to a local Mental Health Charity chosen by CloudMind under the direction of the Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum. Through CloudMind these 14-15 year olds are visiting their peers in school and promoting positive mental health and the message that ‘it’s ok not to be ok’ and with support ‘we can be ok together’.

The BGSG and Committee feel this is an important message which is close to many of our hearts and we hope the donation will support CloudMind in working towards their objectives.

More details on FB at Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group.

First race meeting of 2019 Monday 7th January

Everyone welcome.

There’s a competitive 8 race programme featuring 2 semi-finals of the Red Shilling Memorial Cup over 745 for Monday evening’s first race meeting of 2019. This event is very kindly sponsored by Marcus Tong and Madeleine Ellis.

The meeting will also feature the Awards for our top performers of 2018.

The BGSG (Brandywell Greyhound Supporters Group) will be adding £30 to each race at meeting from the funds raised at the DVD showing of the Opening Nights racing at the Rocking Chair Bar. Thank you to everyone who came along or gave a donation.

Please consider paying your £5 annual membership to support the work of the BGSG. Thank you
