The racing code in QLD with the highest financial loss out of all 3 codes ($5.8M over the past 12 months) is in crisis mode after 2 of their leading Prize money earning Trainers & drivers in Shane Graham & Vicki Rasmussen have been caught,arrested & charged with race fixing at Albion Park , other leading Trainer/Drivers have also been caught race fixing earlier this year & charged by Police.

Like what happened to GRV & GRNSW etc (Both racing bodies cleaned out) K.S HRQLD Boss (who's held back GRQLD from prosepering) & HRQLD must be cleaned out as they let the cheating happen under their noses. EXTERNAL LINK

We will see what develops from Marshall Dobsons charges......Perhaps he will call on his close friends to assist.
Most of the millions of dollars that these drivers have one....has been Earnings of the Greyhounds that has been syphoned off and diverted to "Harness".
See What develops.

Hi branko I think we need to worry about our industry than the scandal in qld harness racing but it is good you have raised this issue

I think you blokes are being a bit harsh it does not matter what code all have bad apples. I have been in both codes and the people in harness are no different than dog people and the majority have the ass out of their strides and only keep going because they love their horses and dogs and have lifelong friendships with other people in their code.Cheers Ted.

Darren and Kev I don't condone any cheating but why are you two tarring every harness person with the same brush just look in our own back yard and you will find the same types .You are being bloody discriminative there are good and bad in all codes.As for the cheats throw the book at them in all codes.

1. First of all they have been charged with allegedly fixing races, it now has to be proven in a court of law.
2. Tell me that the way greyhound Group races are graded is not a form of race fixing done by the governing bodies. By placing the best dog in a race and building a field around them. Once upon a time the big races were a random or blind draw. Now they hide behind the philosophy that the people want to see the best dogs in the final to justify a form of race fixing. Punters in this country will still bet big time on what's put in front of them. A high quality or low quality Melbourne Cup in the horse world does not change the betting.
I find it very unfair that you have these people guilty by what's in the media, of course we know they are always accurate!
