As a result of abandoned meetings and problems with racing in the Hunter Region e.g. Gosford and The Gardens, I hereby initiate a petition for the return of racing at the best one turn grass track in Australia, Cessnock. Even this weekend, one of the Region's meetings has been sent to Richmond instead of swapping over the dates between Gosford and Maitland.
.
A simple Yes or No if you agree or disagree.
No discussion required or warranted. Discussions may be culled.

The results will be mentioned and endorsed at the Greyhound Branch of the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party Meeting held on 24 February 2018, 12 midday at Wyong RSL.

Come on fellas. Cessnock is a dead duck. It's even deader than a dead duck. It's gone. Why not use your energy to propose something that has a chance of succeeding?

G'day Bruce,it is far from "dead duck",as recently as November 2017,Cessnock Council has motioned it's intention to attempt to resume racing there, seeking support from Maurice Iemma Paul Toole,& local MP Clayton Barr,i don't know how thing's are progressing at present, but support for greyhound racing to return to one the best one turn tracks in Australia is a possibility, also, they are looking at possibly putting a smaller cirle track on the inside of the current one turn track & also building a straight track, also proposing a vetianarian complex, aquatic canine pool, adoption centre for greyhound's,yeah sure they will need some type of funding, but don't write off the Harold Park of the "Hunter" just yet.( They still trial twice a week & the track is apparently kept in top order),so hat's off to Bob Whitelaw & the whole team ar Cessnock,& also coucillor Melanie Dagg for having a "crack".p.s ( they had one of the best pie's & sausage roll's i have ever had when i was last there racing,i remember running 3rd to a nice bitch called Dlorah's Girl in the inaugural "Rising Star" maiden...seem's like a lifetime ago now ha ha ha.
