I'm told this program is going to rip apart the horse racing code....race rigging, criminal identities and authorities colluding, money laundering, drugs, sexual assaults, wastage, animal abuse etc. etc.
Can almost see it now in the following days when the racing minister is asked should the government close down horse racing and he says 'no, but we will have a commission of inquiry, and the greyhound code can help pay for it with increased fees and prizemoney cuts just like when we had Equine Influenza'...
Where's V'landys

This story looks just rubbish. Throw enough mud in 45mins broadly about an industry & hope something might stick is typical 4Corners. IMO the figures quoted around rehoming are quite ok and reasonable.
I know some greyhound participants want gallops to cop it out of some sense of justice & fairness however this type of scrutiny does no good for our industry, it just creates more antis and a whole generation that are against any form of racing.

One of The Queens horses was a matter of investigation years ago...from it's purchase, followed the paper trail as it wasn't any good...owner to owner, until it ended up on restaurant plates in France...

The racing codes need to stick together. Which may mean the greys may have to be the bigger person here & get not stuck in a victim mentality of they didnt back us so we should t back then.

Who carried the load when when Equine Influenza crippled the Thoroughbred industry ? What thanks did the Greyhound industry get ?

Do not underestimate racing's fear of Greyhound racing making inroads into their turnover. They know harness is terminal so don't expect any brotherly love towards greyhounds. Public knows you get a fairer run for your money without jockeys on their backs.

Put them to the sword! Let them know what it feels like to have a RED/HOT POKER rammed up the ^**#. Guarantee it will be all done and dusted in a few days. The call will go out, Clean up the Racing Industry! Start with Greyhound Racing! Political deflection.

ROB, while I believe in a fair fight, this one certainly is not,Mr Vlandy made it quiet clear in some of his speeches [ Quote] that he would love to see the end of greyhound racing and if you think that we in the greyhound industry will ever get a fair go from the thoroughbreds OR THE DO-GOODERS you believe in FAIRIES ,

spot on there Ray
but the us v them mentality wont achieve anything ....we need a thriving horse industry in this country and that will only help the dogs .....the more anti animal scum in the greens, the worse it will be in the longterm
