I have tried to contact GRNSW regarding their "new" website regarding problems I am having trying to watch both the replays and live races , but to no avail, and was wondering if anyone was having similar problems?

In short, every time I click on a replay or the "watch live" link I receive - "Error! unable to load the stram, please try again" message. I have tried everything I know to get it working (am reasonably computer savvy), but still can't get them to work.

I have no trouble watching the replays on the old site which is still accessible (for how long?), could it be that the new site is now "Geographically Blocked", restricting access to the videos from outside Australia (i.e. UK)?

I will keep trying to get an answer from someone at GRNSW, but any advice/assistance in the meantime would be thoroughly appreciated.

As an aside, what are peoples opinion of the site? personally I think it looks OK, but I do prefer the "old" Expert formguide format, and another option (which I couldn't see/find) was the "Statistics" option which I found helpful.

G'day David,
I agree the new site looks sharp, the addition of live racing is fantastic...but i think it falls a bit short.
As you noted they have removed the Statistics page,so you have type in the dogs name into the search tab to research a dogs complete greyhounds form history.
The greyhounds previous box draw history - a very valuable tool when assessing a dogs form, but also for potentially buying a greyhound that is for sale, again, the same place.
Also, they have removed the the greyhounds racing weights history from the form guide,& now only it's last start racing weight...yep,again in the same place,i haven't worked out where to add greyhounds & trainers to my blackbook yet,i will let you know when i work that one out.
David,i could go on,but i wont...again i 100% agree with you that the " old " site was hand over fist,BETTER,i thought that when a new concept for any website is created,it is meant to better than the previous site & this is not the case with what we have now ,but who knows in time maybe GRNSW will amend the site...i still can't stop shaking my head from side to side ...,just a longer way around to research a dogs history.
But at least they have tried, just needs a bit of tweaking imo.

You need to use "Chrome" browser Belly. (Google-Chrome) That may be your problem?

Prefer the Old site!

No weights

No results for all interstate or NZ tracks

Hard to manouvere around and hard to read

Money being spent for nothing and functionality actually reduced

Scrap the piece of crap

I was going to start a topic on this myself when I saw what theyd done to it.
Why did they fix what wasnt broken, the old format worked perfect for as long as I can remember and did not need changing, go back to it with the addition of live racing

Seems to be like most things today...
The outside packaging gets prettier and the product inside gets smaller.

It's the Weston Wagonwheel of dog sites.

It's in a shambles at the moment and they have acknowledged errors (best way to do it to get the sympathy vote), but they are working on it. You can go back into the old site and I agree, the old site is/was, a great product.

MG, bread is getting smaller, toilet paper, etc. You have an eye for detail.

Im IT challenged but apparently you go to google and write old.thedogs.com.au You can bookmark it / save to favourites. The new site does have an icon for old website n you click on it to gain access via new site.

I hope this helps.

Yes, the whole world's got to pot, Marky.

I've just gone into the site again to look for a few things.
To use the wagonwheel analogy again, it's now about the size of a 5c piece.

I don't get it.
Why would you release something that is so inferior to the original and so incomplete that it needs to be binned?
Then champion it as a great step forward!?

I'm with Hayden...
Stick with the old site, put live racing and whatever improvements on that.

Just a thought...
Are some finding a better experience of this site on a desktop v an android mobile?
Maybe it's not completely compatible with mobiles?
I've read some comments on content that I don't see.

???

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, but with the advent of live coverage of the races it looks as if the site has now become Geographically Blocked. I had my suspicions, what with contractual agreements re live coverage been shown outside of Australia, that this may have been the case.

Re the new website, and as with any new website, there will be teething problems, however, it does beg the question, why couldn't GRNSW have done a survey or questionnaire prior to the "revamp" about what participants liked, disliked or would change (if any thing), about the old site? ...perhaps I just answered my own question - Participants views and GRNSW, never the twain shall meet (well very seldomly).

I didn't realise Oaks Road was an hermaphrodite.

Looked at the results of race 1 Goulburn today , clicked on the winner and the 2nd dog....both sire and dam were oaks road !

The third dog was by oaks road but the dam wasn't himself unlike the first two.

The new site is terrible for form study. Not being to see every dog one page and having to click on every dog to see their form are my two main issues. I have been clicking on link at top to go to old site however i understand the old site will eventually be removed.
