Hi John I sent this suggestion to the IGB on the 24th of April We have to look at a different model when racing behind closed doors Its only a suggestion but Im sure that this type of idea could be developed. Just a quick response to say that it is most helpful to see the Update on Proposed Racing Arrangements on Talking Dogs this afternoon. Could I make one recommendation regarding the behind closed doors return to racing, this may already have been considered. As there is no audience on site, it would seem to me that there will be huge demand for live streaming not alone at home but also abroad. This is an opportunity of delivering the racing in a completely different manner to the usual Friday and Saturday night fare where all tracks essentially start and finish at the same time. There will be a significant appetite for racing and we could really push our sport forward by staggering racing and also running off races more quickly. As an example, I would envisage say, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 8 tracks running each night, each with 9 races 2 tracks starting at 5pm and 505pm with races at ten minute intervals and the next two on stream at 630 and 635 and the final two at 930 and All streamed on the one platform of talking dogs it would give 72 sequential betting opportunities each evening. Surely in a time of crisis it is time for Dundalk, Thurles and Kilkenny to be streamed live each evening. It could be launched as a significant National Greyhound Project and would be very easy to market. In addition, it would be an ideal vehicle for Multi Race / Jackpot type betting and those owners who do not get the opportunity to see their greyhound racing live can be guaranteed being involved with their dog in a real time scenario. We have to think outside the box, even if only for the duration of the crisis, and it may persist for a significant period. Wishing you every good fortune in your endeavours.
