Only complaints from ppl without city dogs 😂, My dogs have been in 10 group races between them over the last 7 months, my qualm is our city track isnt equal to every other state. Why does the 600m have to be a corner start, the whole track can be rebuilt can it not. The day of on the track viewing at race tracks is past, we need to provide a product for the tv, build tracks that offer the best viewing from anywhere in Australia and ensure the track caters for the best dogs in Australia if we are going to say NSW is the leading state. City 280m racing is a joke!

So just another owner complaining because his dogs can't handle WP boxes..???

Tom

Malcolm is just playing you.

You did your talking with your feet.

If you were loyal to NSW then Blazing Cartier would be running for sub-standard money over an unsuitable distance and probably lost interest in chasing by now

You and others e.g the Keeping Camps, Nutt/Evans Camp etc are perfect examples , their top greyhounds are going south where there is 2 City meetings with full prizemoney to reward 500m+ greyhounds

NSW are left with the dregs

NSW has become SQUIB CENTRAL because it is now to expensive to send them to N.Z.

Very good post Sandro.

I think we need a second city track and it makes sense that it be one that includes 600m racing.

Just my opinion.

I want to make it known that I have nothing against short course racing...I have one myself at the moment, but not in NSW, probably where it should be

All greyhounds of all levels have to be catered for, in our new world, I am just talking about greater reward for the amount of work and patience that goes in to developing longer distance dogs i.e 500m+ and incentives for our faster greyhounds

A second city class meeting with full prizemoney is what is needed and with distances over 500m-600m-700m

In my opinion, GRNSW should be looking at making one of the Richmond meetings a full city meeting

It stands out like the proverbial that racing at Wenty is on borrowed time. The current lease expires in seven years. WILL IT BE RENEWED? NO HOPE. A government assett worth hundreds of million dollars being used by less than 1000 people twice a week???
The GBOTA should have been negotiating an exit plan from Wenty years ago. It's probabaly still not too late to do a deal, however, the longer we go without negotiating compensation, will result in far less benefit to the industry.

I think grnsw was in process of negotiations for an extension on the lease when the ban came in. From what I was told, the longer our lease the more compensation we may receive to exit it.
This may or may not be fact but it sounds fair to assume this would be the case. At the moment I think money is tight and Wentworth park still has better facilities than other alternatives & correct me if Im wrong but other assets like Richmond arent owned by grnsw? So maybe thats a stumbling block also?

The NSW GBOTA are sitting on a Goldmine / Appin that has been nothing more than a trial track for years, VIC SA QUEENSLAND are all straight racing but no not the NSW GBOTA !!!

SANDRO I have never met and very unlikely to meet an anonymous Genius because their EGO's won't let them be.

I have met plenty of genius's who don't want the limelight because they are shouted down by loud-mouthed ignoramuses

Lets not attack each other!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of good points & suggestions put forward in this thread-most I've seen over & over during NSW's decline over the last 20 years.

Point is they are mostly all still relative for W/P now-eg.600m racing/soundproof kennels/full city prize money both nights.

Two extra points I would suggest are a start time of 5pm & an increase of travel money to $100 for first dog & $50 for second, third etc. for those trainers domiciled outside Wollongong/Katoomba & Gosford or an equivalent Kilometre figure.
