I've supported Manly for over half a century. Today I cancelled my membership and tomorrow I'll take a cupboard full of supporters gear to St Vinnies. Mestrov has ruined my once great club in a matter of weeks. What a complete f@#$ wit. Please send this incompetent fool back to the greyhounds.

Let me start out by saying that I am an absolute fan of former GRNSW Tony Mestrov. The things he did to save our industry were, imho, just unbelievable for a variety of reasons.
If you think Manly's troubles started when Mestrov took over, I think you're wide of the mark - it goes back to at least 2011, and even before.
To blame Mestrov for Manly's recent troubles, i.e. the gay pride jumper and the Hasler problems is disregarding both how good Mestrov is as an administrator and also ignoring what a disruptive grub Hasler is, imho.
Manly was a basket-case well before Mestrov recently arrived at the joint. To think anything other is sheer fantasy methinks.
But in one way I do agree with you, I hope Manly does get rid of Tony Mestrov. That way, we may be able to get him back to greyhound administration in NSW, ideally as the head of GWIC.

Don't care how good you think TM was but all he is at Manly is a YES man, hate to say but agree with Dix, he's a waste of space, As far as Des being a grub, way off the mark, 2011 Des went to Penn asking for a raise or he'd walk,This after winning 2008 GF by a record margin, Penn called his bluff and he left, he didn't make a big thing about it because he didn't want to disrupt the team,who went on to win, not bad for a grub..!!

Like I said previously, every gambling organisation boomed during COVID19. I think some people are giving TM way too much credit for something that fell into his lap. I may well be letting my passion for Manly cloud my judgement, but to say TM's short tenure has been a complete train wreck is an understatement. Time will tell if I'm off the mark.
