It's a GRV decision nothing to do with state politics let alone federal politics

Danny just heard the CEO of the Cranbourne Turf Club say on air today they had received funding from the State Government for their recent building project.

Why can't similar Government funding be made available to GRV too for the redevelopment of Cranbourne Greyhound Track ?

If one reads between the lines or puts two and two together, Cranbourne GRC will no longer be viable and the track will be bulldozed, to make way for an AWT for T'Bred racing and training.

The absorbent figure that was provided to upgrade Cranbourne GRC track IMO was just a figure to justify the means to an end to facilitate the support for T'Bred racing, especially after figures that were provided as a comparison about other greyhound track upgrades. Cranbourne GRC track has been closed for a fair amount of time.

There's a harness track between the thoroughbred track and harness track so there isn't the space for a horse track where the greyhounds are.

In any case, the thoroughbred training takes place at the training centre next door, not at the race track.

Theyll work out a way for at least a training track to be installed if the harness and greyhound tracks are not viable to be used. Well, we know the greyhound track wont be there. Do they still have harness meetings there?

Yes, the harness club races 26 times a year. They generally only race on the thoroughbred track - training takes place on a dedicated 220 acre site next door.

GRV has shelved plans for the redevelopment of the Granbourne Greyhound Complex.
It appears Victoria's Labor Government has emptied the States Money Box.
Could it be the same Treasurer who costed the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

"Rumour has it" Warragul Greyhound Club has approx 8 years to run on its lease at the Showgrounds.
The adjacent Sale yards site has been cleared.
A proposed Shopping Centre to constructed on both sites?
This perhaps explains a plan to develop a new stand alone Greyhound Complex east of Pakenham?

Greyhound Clubs dont seem to fair well when theyre involved with TBreds Clubs and/or Harness Clubs, but there are exceptions to the rule.

Perhaps the Andrews Government should engage the services of the Tasmanian Government for project costings.
This is what you get for $16M.
A Harness Track with a Greyhound Track as a bonus.
Victoria's Cranbourne Track costing of $14M sounds a bit overs given that the Kennel block and Grandstand are existing.
See link below.
