have a person asking about a greyhound with 1 testicle in groin area on railing leg, dog was winning in best of day times but moving off the turns,,now he has started brushing hind leg and not going as good when heading into corners with form slip, would testicle all of a sudden be worrying the dog to not want to corner,

It is possible the testicle has moved slightly. Years ago we had a dog absolutely flying only to come out and fight his head off one day, testicle had moved up into his groin from the sack and pinched him

The way Northern rivers vet explained it to me ...
The testicle is on a cord and it can be quite benign and not hampering and gradually the cord can wind around and around the testical to the point the testicle ruptures !
Im well sick of no testicle dogs and try to avoid them but the ones i do have i get removed as a matter of course as you never know how they are feeling and if its holding them back.
Another reason i belive in having them removed ..i had a no ball fernando pup rearing with another pup and id watch them run ..the poor fernando ran like a crab with the wierdest action ,,,couldnt even go close to matching other dog ...i thought a dud pet for sure ...so i had testicles out and after recovery this dog was beating the quick dog running witha beautufl smooth gallop and he went on to race and win races ...in this case i was totally convinced it was his testicles it was chaulk and cheese to my eyes prooof postive !
i shloud add ive done quiet a few now over the years but not all with reesults that obvious ..some its seemed to make no difference

What would you recommend Matt would you remove it before starting racing if up in groin. Iv got one going ok and wil start in a few months but has that problem it doesnt affect him when trialing so looking for opinions.

If it doesn't bother them leave it alone. Only gonna create unnecessary scar tissue
But once retired definitely remove it because can turn cancerous

Get it out there is no after affects unless the surgeon is a butcher. Also check the knee and or hip support.
