Brian, I take it that the HQ meeting wasn't fruitful lol. AGM Sunday mate, put the cue in the rack and enjoy life.

That is exactly what is going to happen.
Local picnic horse meeting @ Mt Perry has 5 races with a total prizemoney pool of $39,000. A country dog meeting is less than the cost of country horse 1 race to run. We Run As One!

It clearly stated in David's letter to the club (at the time) that Q.R. were happy with the performance of this club.....so why reduce racing meetings?
It certainly wasn't lack of funds as stated. That's boloney.
There's obviously another reason.
Why else would they want a club to struggle after nearly 30 years of survival....with the last 15 of those years being fed on crumbs which might I say has/had been a struggle too.
It's clear to me. The oxygen is slowly being squeezed out of Bundaberg's airwaves.
The club can't possibly survive on this latest proposal of withdrawing MORE race meetings.
Without race meeting you have less turn-over.
Without turn-out, you can't pay bills.
If you can't pay bills, you close the doors.
Imagine running a shop which opened 7 days a week and after 27 years of business, the landlord sent you a letter stating that you could only open for 4 days a week.......You'd close the doors because the turn-over wouldn't make ends meet.
It's the same in this case & it's absolutely discussing to be a witness of the "Beginning of the END" for Bundaberg.
The AGM for the club is this weekend so I'm sure the Club President Brian Terry will throw ALL the cards on the table.....which won't contain any aces.
Brian....Anyone related with Bundaberg Greyhound Racing can't knock what you've done for the club as President.
You've pulled strings here & there.
Talked to those in charge, Council, Local Members, Minsters.
You've tried it all.....but it's all fallen on deaf ears.
Yes....I agree with John.
Put your cue back in the rack......and then put in a vote of no confidence.
BUNDABERG.....IT'S NOW OR NEVER.

With tenders still being accessed I presume and it being November 2014, NO work will be starting on Cronulla Park until well "after" new year. So much for July 2015 racing, more like "late" 2015 at the earliest!

Mark, the prizemoney allocation would have to be budgeted somewhere I would think, that may give us an indication when they think they will kick off, if they haven't squirrelled it away somewhere more than likely next financial year, I know the rhetoric says that other clubs are to lose dates to accommodate Logan but I cant see that happening. I remember reading somewhere in these 399 pages which club is going to race out of the venue was it Gold Coast?

Ippy and Brisbane clubs will no doubt forfeit a meeting each! so no budget concerns regarding prize money. The question is...Has the complex been designed to fit a sensible 2 turn track in the future? Or has the industry been stitched up was again?

Mark, Our Racing Minister sent me an email stating "major work on Cronulla Park would start BEFORE the end of this year.........completion July 2015"

Wilma, near on Xmas break for tradies so I would be very surprised if there will be a start before early January 2015. That being the case "cannot" see it completed anywhere near on time if you facture in delays due to bad weather and all that does happen with a build.

Sean, that means two businesses will be asked to take a 33% and 25% cut to revenues respectively through loss of dates, they also will have their trial revenues severely dented when Logan ramps up, their rents etc will not change. A Country club in Qld has had its dates cut and the loss of revenues has seen it slip from Black financially into the red, RQ have taken the let them eat cake approach to the problem even though the losses sit squarely at their hands . I doubt either of the Brisbane Clubs can take that hit to revenues and prosper into the future unless they are compensated.
Luckily both of the Clubs are well represented so have some hope of negotiating a favourable outcome
And I hope they have planned for a decent 2 turn inside the one turn otherwise participants will have been stitched up again

If the Bundy club has evidence that its loss of revenue and financial slip, is due to decisions made by RQL, then get onto the racing minister (you all know that goose) and let him know about the situation and that the State Ombudsman will be receiving all details in the very near future.

I didn't see it, but apparently Mr. Dixon stated on Sky coverage of Ippy that earth works have started on the Logan site?

Michael, be more like machinery has been moved onto the site. The above statement from Dixon would be political, ie earth works have started. This is a political term, meaning what I have stated above.

Don't get over that side of town much. It would be interesting to hear what exact "works" are happening from someone who does.

Michael, the old man did a drive by yesterday! Tenders don't close till the end of November,so if Mr Dixon has made such a statement? He is either misinformed or has mistaken lawn mowing for earthworks.
