Does anyone know where I can buy a drag lure from.
I would prefer one in Victoria, but as I'm very keen on getting one, any state will do. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeff.

I'll give you a call in a month or so (once I can build my straight track).

For the benefit of anyone else reading this....

They run off a car battery right?
Is the trolley included?
What is the standard length?
Is there a limit on how long you can make them (e.g up to 500m)?
Is the speed variable?

I've never used one before so apologies if any of those questions are a bit silly... :-)

I have a question as well that may seem silly.
Are these lures something you can set up quickly to use????
The reason being i don't have the property to use it,so take them to a golf course.
If the drag lures are set up in a matter of minutes it would be well worth my while.
Scott.

scott. they are only as big as say a large esky, very light weight , some are on trolly just like a hand trolly you would move a fridge with, others are just on wheels you just pull it along , but they are light and easy to use , you can have them so they plug into a trailor point on your car, or buy one of those cheap starter packs from super cheap, autobarn etc they usually have about 400m of string which is plenty,

there is also hand operated drag lures , we use these for pups , just tie something on the end of it that they can see and they will chase after it , a light kids footy that squeaks etc is ideal, but it must be light, with the right gearing these lures can be used for race dogs up a straight as well ,its quite easy to keep it in front of them no matter how fast they run,

major drawback of these lures is all the running around to bring the string back to the starting point , here a little postmans motor bike is ideal . or a quad bike, and if that fails you can simply walk back with it LOL

Yes they run off a car battery
trolley included
we can put any length of line on, but standard is 330m
speed is not variable as such, but the way its used can be adjusted
the post above has the external link to a photo of the drag lures or send me your email and I will e-mail photos of our drag lures.

Mick, all i'd do is take the dogs to other end of the 14th,while carrying the lure and have someone up the other end to operate it.
As i only have a couple of dogs at any one time,it only needs to be used once per trip.
May be worth investing in.
Scott.
