Bit excited to announce the very first exportation of greyhounds from Australia to Russia!!
We were approached by the equivalent to Greyhounds Australia (but in Russia) about our dogs some months ago as they were looking for some particular lines to basically re juvenate the Irish/English lines that pre dominate in Russia.
We are quite honoured that they have chosen four of our Siyan bred kids - ROYAL SIYAN (black dog by Where's Hoover x Royal Sal - Lansley Bale x Sobbing Sal),SIMBA SIYAN (black dog by Hallucinate x Siyan Doll - Larkhill Jo x Delrae Doll), TOKEN SIYAN (Black dog by Token Prince x Steffi Grace - Brett Lee x Elusive Rebel) and CRAFTY SIYAN (black bitch x Bombastic Shiraz x Crafty Witch) to basically head up their new breeding program!
I had no idea that the greyhoundracing was so big in Russia and the people are so passionate about their dogs over there! They are very into bloodlines and have a real handle on what's going on around the world. They don't miss much as far as racing and breeding are concerned and their requirements and criteria for dogs going to Russia are very strict - which is a good thing.
I did some careful research before considering selling dogs over there but the care and facilities they have are world class and they keep most of their dogs, well into the golden years, as much loved pets.
All four left here this morning for their exciting journey and there is another group going over a little later on.
Here's hoping these Aussie dogs will make their prescence felt over there and be great ambassadors for the Ausrtralian greyhound!

Hope they go well for their new owners. Well done on breeding Too Many Times yesterday as well a winner at Geelong in the last. Ran wide and good time for a dog that finished out in the grandstand at the line! LOL

Congrats again

Thanks Rod!
It is a bit exciting and also a bit of an honour for these people to choose some of our home bred babies to head up the new breeding program!
Good to see that Crystal Siyan pup get up and win, even if we didn't breed her! :-)
Cheers,
Donna

Well done Donna thats a big thrill that they want your pups , a little sad to see Crafty Siyan going as you know I have her half sister and love her to death, think Bombastic shiraz is a top choice. Think the Russians have chosen wisely and should be on a good thing , Cant get much better bred anywhere.

All the Best,

Troy

Hi Troy,
Thankyou so much for your kind and encouraging words!
Its always hard to let them go - especially when they're off to the other side of the world!
Little Kate (Crafty Witch girl)is a very sweet kid but I am sure all of them are going to have great lives in Russia.
How is your girl going? What is she up to now?
Take care,
Donna

New dogs are going to Russia it is very interesting! I can guess who bought these pups. It is real arm races nowadays here! There are few ambitious breeders in Russia and for late 5 years the greyhounds of the much better quality have been brought to Russia than they were imported early. For example:
CLICK HERE CLICK HERE
CLICK HERE CLICK HERE
CLICK HERE CLICK HERE
CLICK HERE
CLICK HERE
CLICK HERE

There is only one problem we have - no tracks in Russia, all our dogs run straight race on track for horses.
If I want to check my dogs on real track, I have to go to Finland (1100 km from Moscow!).

But I hope that next season the situation will change and we will begin to build the track.

Hi Eleonora,
Some of the dogs you have mentioned there are beautifully bred. Are any of them yours?
I hope this first group of Aussie dogs become successful over there for your breeders.

Regards,
Donna
