Darris, what did those "other" mainland dogs trial there a few weeks ago by comparison?

| Kevin...Not naming names...but one went as quick as Hurricane Luke did and the others were a length to two lengths slower.... but still good runs first up...its not a track were ya can come an run an think ya gunna win first up,as Hurricane luke had everything go his way, credit to the dog tho he ran well but with no pressure it was more like trial for him as the others were ordinary to begin an bunched up behind him...but still he run quick first look..!!

| Gripen Bale should love the big track and the 'hard' 460m at Hobart. Track record in jeopardy with the quality there I reckon..

| from one of my Facebook Groups: Its getting that time of year again...with all the top tassie chasers eyeing off the major's again...with the Betfair Tasmanian Gold Cup at Tattersalls Park thursday 19th November with the final on the 26th and the Tasmanian Bred Launceston Saloon Bar Gold Collar on the 23rd November with the final on the 30th take centre stage as a lead up to the Oldest Group 1 in Australia in the "Wrest Point Hobart Thousand" 10th December....and this year looks a real cracker of a series for 2009......with some big name's already certain to be flying over to take the Group 1 riches away from our local stars...some of these are the Geelong Cup winner in the flying Gripen Bale an the Top Gun finalist an Meadows track record holder in Turanza Bale, for the legendary Greame Bate an Wheeler Family,as well as Hurricane Luke from NSW who's already had a look at the Hobart circut last week winning the FFA in a slick 26.00,an with whispers of Darren Mcdonald bringing a team headed by Gardam Prince an Jason Thompson bringing a team also,... this years Hobart Thousand looks set to be one of the best for a number of years,...then throw in the local champs of star bitch Topline Doovee an last years winner in Little Spaniard for Micky Stringer an the Butch Deverell duo in Big Moose an Eagle Eye,as well as the Debbie Cannan Trained High Choice, the David Croswell trained Tooohey's Queen, the Mick Louth trained National sprint rep in Koocanusa an Sandhog,Pedro Pronto for the Grubbs as well as Rocket Moss for Vic Taylor as well as some up an coming youngsters ready to keep the thousand on home soil...

| With Hobart getting the Nationals and the sprint being on the 1 turn 462 mts. Is it a good idea we N.S.W.men contest our sprint championship at Bulli. It would be a better guide to whom would suit Hobart rather than the 2 turns at Wenty.

That would be a great concept GRANT as it would better prepare the dogs for the one turn concept. VIC have enough one turn tracks to be able to use the same concept, WA could use MANDURAH 492, NSW at BULLI and then that would leave QLD to rent out MAITLAND for two meetings seems they have been ridded of true one turn racing in this state.

| I think it is the noise of our "Lure System" that brings a lot of mainland dogs undone. Plus our bend is ran at full speed. I really like "Gripen Bale" a fast big dog who "Bates" is setting for our big race. The only thing about Bates dogs I do not like is that he does not trial them before they race on "Strange Tracks", but no one can say anything against this Master's methods, one can only dream to be as good as him.
