I fail to see , how anyone who is seriously interested in getting their dog into gap , would worry about $100 it's a very basic cost goes no where near what the actual cost is , For the wowsers February/ march is free .. Grv through its members are subsidising this programme. Support it.

Michael, if the $100 is stopping one dog from being adopted then it should be removed. The industry needs to show more dogs adopted & if necessary GRV should subsidise more. The welfare of the animal is more important to the survival of the industry than who is paying for what.

Robert if that one person can't efford the 100 dollars , my view is that ,that person should never had a greyhound in the first place. Or any other kind of animal . Too many in this industry just think I'll get a greyhound. And I'll make money racing it , they got no idea ,, it's high time the responsibility was laid to rest with the individual , I'd say let breeders pay a bond per pup registered,, buyers pay a bond per up bought ,,this bond helps pay for the dogs future beyond racing ,, too many idiots involved in greyhounds , time to clean up the industry. Grv have started but boy do they have a big job on their hands

Well said Michael (although I dont agree with the breeder posting a "bond") Take off the cost of putting a dog to sleep, if the OWNER cant come up with a few extra dollars for the sake of the dog, they should not have dogs......

Rich.

As a owner, I wouldn't mind paying a fee say $20 that goes towards GAP when registering a dog its expensive raising a pup, $20 isn't anything in the big scheme of things, and even if you pay $100 to put the dog into gap that's not even two weeks rearing to hopefully get the dog a home for life.
