New GAP ad...

Beware of the Greyhound...is the catch cry...

If you heard that or saw that...would people think the 'obvious' and NOT read or watch the rest of the ad thinking...you know what...

Who comes up with this...???...!!!

EXTERNAL LINK

How about...

Greyhounds, the fastest pets to own...

Adopt a greyhound the kids will love you for it...

Greyhounds, both lazy and fast...

Got to be better than BEWARE...

I think its fine and actually well presented & the 5 information points about a greyhound & finally the catch phrase - "BEWARE, watching this video will make you want to adopt one" is great & thinking outside the square - for all the negatives NSW gets this is a positive in my opinion.

If anyone cares to watch it - bloody good work.

I disagree with Grant, I think the title is interesting and controversial enough that people will actually watch it.

They've ticked most boxes - older couples, single couples, young people with kids, men, women, apartment dwellers. They actually give the breed some 'panache' by mentioning the fact that only royalty could own them, their physical prowess etc.

The people that are going to be watching this are tossing up greyhounds amongst other breeds. In my opinion this pleads their case well.

I like it.

They are making a joke of the BS that has been tossed at the greyhound breed

They are pointing out all the positives and these points need to be continually reinforced to the public

Getting the general public to connect with the greyhound as a dog will break down the barriers and anti-dominated myths that are being created about the breed

Advertising these facts are probably the best spending that GRNSW will ever make on welfare in their life

Agree with the positives and see the humour but using the word 'beware' is usually followed by savage dog. As long as people read the full speil and not just the head line it should be a good campaign.

BEWARE ....

to be wary of

to be cautious or careful

LOVE .

A feeling of devotion or adoration

A feeling of kindness or concern

An intense emotional attachment to something, as to a pet or treasured object.

A strong predilection or enthusiasm

To have an intense emotional attachment

Out of compassion; with no thought for a reward

Words like BEWARE over a word like LOVE ...

I love the ad and I give 10 out of 10 for at least trying to help represent our beloved greyhound but with a single WORD of BEWARE this does not over excite me at all ....

I think its awesome.

The title BEWARE OF THE GREYHOUND puts the person reading into 2 minds.....which I believe 9 times outa 10 will make that person open the attachment.

It's very similar to the way Grant has presented this thread, naming it simply BEWARE. Usually I'd just move on after noticing the author (LOL) but the title sucked me in & I opened my first thread written by Grant in 10 years......Just having a lend GT LOL.

Very clever.

Isnt that what the media is all about a negative story! If I seen this as a member of the public id think oh another thing the greyhound people have done ill watch and see what it is now. More laying in of the boot! Great advert grnsw id like to see it on a free to air tv channel. Its useless putting these things on sky cause the market is one that is aware of these traits.

100% Calum, any ads should be on the non-racing channels or in the daily newspapers for it to have any effect

I thought the video was a very good promotion for the greyhound and should have people coming foreword to adopt. There were a few inaccuracies' that would not detract from giving a greyhound a home, but overall I enjoyed it.
