So much Technology and Applied science within our industry What are current strengths, weaknesses in this field. What needs improvement ? what can we expect in the future? what affect will it have on current industry practices?
Communications ( websites include social media) ) Lasers, Ultra Sound, Electro Mag blankets, cooling vests, compression suits, Blood test techniques, urine test kits, swab technology, hair testing, digital timers, video cameras ( go pro ) Computer generated form guides, (ouch) Computer breeding, ( sire recommendations Grey data) On line betting Construction ( tracks, kennels, ) Lure systems (race track and trainers tracks ) Weighing machines. Starting boxes Etc etc 2020 what new technology, app science can we expect and what current technology, app sci within industry needs improving ? Would be interested in members thoughts opinions Graham promises no more chess analogies / physic. ( did it once for good reason) A good topic for going forward and to look back on in the future

Yes, I can think of one, Gra...a bloody HUGE one. The very complex technology and obviously too hard technology of the PTB to allow a carnivorous animal to be rewarded with a bloody SCHMAKO!!!! Which would alleviate the mountainous increases in marring, FTP and failure to break in!!!!!!
They spend tens of millions on everything but ignore the core problem with the racing animal...INTEGRITY!

Good post GM AI intelligence is going ahead in leaps and bounds my Son is doing a masters in it at Uni also specialising in cyber protection security as well.
with AI intelligence in the future trainers with be wifi into the robotic animals brain computers think for them self communicating with each other ..Racing will be controlled by AI intelligence where robotic Greyhounds will be able to think for themselfs in full fields of 20 to 50 robotic greyhounds racing over klms not meters .
Maybe the 50 field Greyhound racing is a bit out there but AI is the future.

I hear a well known pharmacists is close to a new serum installing commonsense Hopefully we can purchase this new commonsense serum and put bit in the PTB coffee jar. Lol

Double Wow Awesome Concept, going to take a lot of skill operating the controls, I best book my drone flying course in preparation Do you think we should invite ET for the National robotics greyhound derby ? Second thoughts on ET invite? He might not want to go home. Dr Who might accept an invite ? That fella Jackman my wife reckons we should invite Albert are you there ?

GM ET call home ...he is already home .. Thats the thing Mate we dont need to think your own brain will be in planted with a small chip that will interact with your own brain this also is a huge step forward for the human body no more cancer no more waiting to see if you get cancer the brain and its in built computer will be able to turn on and off the brain and it will eliminate all known diseases within the human body .This will enable us all to live longer fully diseases free ..... People who cannot walk will be able to walk again feel again even with robotic arms and legs they will feel as we feel its amazing and it only years away .
Thats why i am proud of my son ...

GM Its all a bit weird but in a nut shell this is just a small part what AI can now and will do shortly in the future . Artificial intelligence (AI) software has its a solution. No, it will not repair the damage, but it could help spinal injury and stroke patients walk again. To customize patient experiences, this system relied on an artificial neural network, where components known as artificial neurons are supplied data and work together to solve a problem.
This neural net can then alter the pattern of links among those neurons to change the way they interact, and the network tries solving the problem again. Over time, the neural net learns which patterns are best at computing solutions, an AI strategy that imitates the human brain.
Computers will write there own programs and solve the problems it self .

Thanks Kevin Truly remarkable and exciting for so many in desperate need. Another decade. Magic
His name is Cain ...GM Wants to get into White cyber stuff as well . cybercrime will cost the world in excess of US$6 trillion annually by 2021, up from US$3 trillion in 2015. He speaks a couple of languages and can play a few instruments writes his own music .... He dont drink smoke or take drugs
I know its hard to believe his carries my DNA ....
I had a year 9 fail ...
He Could not catch a ball or kick a footy but he has a brain and patience and logic and compassion something i lack .....
It a good feeling knowing my Son will not make the same mistakes i did with life in general he is so much more smarter than me so i am a happy Dad ..he wont train or breed greyhounds . He wants to finish his masters at Melbourne Uni so far his marks are in the 90's so he should get in hoping for a scholarship...

I Loved the video Kevin. AGI will be uncontrollable like a wild horse. Im with Musk & Hawking we need to find another planet.
Cain Im envious for your future path ahead in life. Keep Albert E in mind, Albert never stopped thinking, Albert E had a deep strong passion for mathematics , unshakable. Good luck and bless you.

They spend tens of millions on everything but ignore the core problem with the racing animal...INTEGRITY! Imagine. A race lure passing the winning line, sprays a vapour of herbal aniseed leaving a scent trail. Somehow I think many dogs keenness to chase would escalate
MG unfortunately we are in a LUDICROUS situation. What can we do about ? Collect facts that they already know ? No MG they will persist, why ? I best keep my mouth shut. Caution ! I suspect they are gathering stats on dogs FTP to point the arrow at the trainer. Trainers must become trainers who can overcome a dog FTP ?? Didnt you know its a dogs devoted love to its trainer alone thats makes dogs chase hard. So much angers me too regarding the lack of permissible reward for dogs that needs it. Something so little for example, Scent on a Raceday lure. What type of scent ? Herbal of course. ANISEED herbal. This little change would save half of those FTP IMO. Oh, vapour would have to be colour BLUE :)

Google Anise (aniseed) balls for dogs ASPCA approved for dogs in small amounts. Sprinkle on your dogs toy Dogs attracted by scent of aniseed
Check it out folks
A race lure thats puffs out aniseed vapour after winning post into pen, leaving a aniseed scent. Too hard ? Too many big negatives? Dogs wont like ? MG Schmackos no chance mate. Aniseed is our only front line bayonet.

Gov, I know about aniseed because I tried it years ago. Some will react to it, some won't. As you know, even aniseed is a prohibited reward because it is organic. A piece of grass tied on a string is a prohibited lure!!!
Here's a suggestion for the PTB. Anything that comes out of a packet is permissible along with a sheepskin. That rule is completely workable and if they truly think not, ask the general public who are the issuers of "the social licence" what they think about it.
ATM, the chase being compromised. If that continues, we'll have less dogs and less punters.

Organic prohibited, I had no idea that was a ruling. Thank you. MG we both know Aniseed used to arouse dogs, its a very old practice and yes some do and some dont, to what percentage breakdown of dogs that do or dont get aroused by aniseed? Who knows ? Im optimistic and say minimum 5 out of 10 dogs get aroused by scent. Whats your guess ? Graham thinking is on SCENT alone. Not anything else yummy wise. Spray of scent from race lure after winning post leaving a scented trail into pen. Every little bit helps. So any thoughts or opinions on this Scented Lure idea, $ is there if they wanted to develop a scented lure, run practical tests and assess.

This is how I used to rear and train... I am extremely hands on in the rearing process so the whole idea was to intro a sheepskin very early on...they loved it and you could see their senses were heightened and in tune. The sheepskin was then used in their education for the straight track. They immediately recognised the lure and attacked it with the same gusto they did in rearing. The process was then extended to the trial track which had sheepskin...same result. They then went to the racetrack on trial night that also had a sheepskin lure.
Problem getting s dog down in the boxes? Never a problem if you had a snag sitting in front then dragged when the lids opened!
Piece of plastic just as good? Offer the dog plastic in one hand or a schmako in the other... Go for the plastic will he? Deadset joke.
I NEVER HAD THE PROBLEMS THAT WE SEE SO MUCH OF TODAY!!! I wonder why...
Playing with bloody plastic will only get them so far...
Yes, scent would help, especially with the progression as above but would it be enough to hold their focus better through the knocks and bumps?...I don't know. I would imagine it does not stack up as well as a sheepskin that has scent and taste...
I don't know what "completely synthetic" scent can or is made available but for me just us discussing it is ridiculous.
I could go on and on, Gov. It is something that really needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.
All the tech under the sun won't help if the dogs lose their integrity to chase hard and that is where it is going...
