We all want to rehome as many greys as we can.
One way I am trying to "spread the word" and educate people that greys are lazy and gentle, is by volunteering with 2 of my greys as Story Dogs.
It is Australia wide, and anyone with a dog of good temperament can volunteer. (They have to pass a temperament test, but both of mine passed easily) If anyone with some spare time wants to go to a nearby school once a week for an hour and a half and help 4 or 5 selected Grade 2 kids, and help them read, I highly recommend it.

My Olympic Mariner and Athena Benson love it.

That's a good idea Julie, do you find the kids are more engrossed in the dogs? or is it something like quiet time before reading? either way good on you for participating.

Thankyou Simon,
Mostly, the kids are engrossed in the book. Most pat the dog, but some don't. Some of the kids are chosen for Story Dogs to help with their reading, and others need one-on-one time to build their confidence. (Each of the 4 or 5 chosen kids get 15-20 minutes separately with myself and the dog)
Either way, it is all helping to show how gentle greys are with kids and promote the breed. And we all know how mums at school "network". lol.
As I also rehome greys from the trainers, it's a win-win for kids, dogs, trainers and myself. (I used to race and bred a few litters about 25 years ago, so still have a few contacts)
