This seems unbelievable to me & I am wondering why we shouldn't tell the
Government we won't leave until the new track (not on flood land & not to blazes out) is up & trialing.

I have been told different stories but if we put our foot down I'm sure the reaction will be swift.

How much is the Wentworth Park property worth to the Government & yet we are offered flood lands or a revamp of an existing track which means we lose an in demand track.

To get out of Wenty we need to be upgraded to a state of the art complex- something in line with the quality of Randwick or Rosehill.

Grant - The government will tell us what to do we wont be putting any foot down as soon as 2027 comes around where out ,so like i have been saying all along forget looking around for land they have been trying for quite some time now and it costs money as well .Knock richmond down track ,kennels,-grandstand the lot and build a top city track ,do it now and it will be ready by 2027 .People keep talking about how much w/park is worth ,so what we don't own it and we will be out in 2027 we have missed the boat for getting good money out of there which we could of got years ago .No one likes travelling in there to race or trial nowhere to walk the dogs park ect track falling apart no 600 first turn terrible move on and do it NOW.

When you consider the fact that the majority of Land in N.S.W. is Crown land it makes me wonder how motivated are those searching for a new venue ???

From what I can find. All main Greyhound HQ tracks on the mainland of Australia are owned and operated by the industry. QLD are in the process of building theirs.

It only further highlights the pathetic state of NSW And the real support or lack of for this industry, by the previous NSW government. Most likely, because they knew they were going to lose the election, so couldnt give a rats.

Now your wonderful ALP are in charge Mark, whats taking them so long? No shortage of cash to splash up the road - EXTERNAL LINK

Well theyre already moving staff out of the Powerhouse.

Just looking at Eastern Creek. Theyve relocated the Speedway there from Parramatta. It seems logical in my mind, to relocate the greyhounds to that area as well. Youve got Sydney Motorsport Park, Karting, Drag racing and now the Speedway - the equestrian centre not far away. Likewise the AFL GWS Giants. Its a set sporting precinct. We should be lobbying hard for that area.

That wont mean anything to the Government, but putting us in with the Motorsport, shouldnt worry people in the area. After all, the Speedway was a great night out at the Sydney Showgrounds in Moore Park. Til the inner city fwits complained about it in the early 80s and they cancelled that too. Would be near impossible for government to argue against that Motorsport precinct location. As another animal sport is there as well, In equestrian.

I agree, my only concern would be how close would a potential Greyhound Venue be to the Motorsport Venue ?

Noise from Motorsport Venue if close enough may affect Greyhounds ?

Darling Harbour Fire Works / Wentworth Park for example !

Eastern Creek would be great in where the Equestrian is located but that has been brought up 3 years ago the same with all that area so for some reason that has been ruled out .We need some answers to what is going on ,nothing ever gets done all these proposed new tracks getting built and new locations we need a report on what's happening from the powers to be .

3 years ago is a long time, a different government and with 2027 fast approaching. It deserves another lobby.

Remember, the media coverage Parramatta speedway got when their track was taken by the LNP government and no alternate site proposed. The media coverage, showing the arrogance of government, soon found the the speedway a new home!

Government need to be reminded, about the backlash of the ban and the negative look the LNP government received from grabbing Parramatta Speedway, without relocation plans.

Take a drive along The Northern Road,Elizabeth Drive. Badgery Creek Road and Luddenham Road. All around the new airport and you'll see rural properties openly advertised for sale everywhere. This is future non residential zoned land. The ideal scenario for a greyhound centre of excellance. As development moves forward the cost is going to blow out. BUY NOW!!

Sorry Ray, but what happens if a Jumbo is coming in to land just as the lids open or even mid race?
The broadcast will be a little muffled both on course and on Sky.
Not to mention the dogs being spooked by the noise.

There will be an exclusion zone directly under the short flight path. Nothing will be allowed in this area.

Theyve even moved Randwick Equine Centre from Randwick to Horsley Park. Across the road from the equestrian centre. Theres your common ground. The greyhounds from Glebe to Eastern Creek!!! How can government argue against it?

That area will be the centre of Sydney in the future. It only makes sense to have a track that close to the main ring road around Sydney

Sandro i brought that up with a GBOTA director 3 or 4 years ago i said that was a ideal spot for a new city track as usual he and his mob were not interested so best keep them right away from everything. They do not want to do anything positive for greyhond racing leave it all to GRNSW and hope for the best .
