Thank you everyone for your kind words. No dog will ever replace William but we have decided to take up my friends offer of an italian greyhound puppy. It will be very different from havin William in the house he was such a big lump she will never ever even fill his paw prints.

We are hoping for a little bitch and she will be called Willow I hope as I wanted a connection to William and he answered to Will so the connection is there

So sorry for your loss. What was his full name?

William was show bred greyhound so is not on the data base His KC name was Barnesmore Billy the Kid. He was born near to Belfast and was named Willie he didn't come to us until he was 8 months old. We changed his name to William as I wsn't going to shout Willie in the middle of the park although he always answered to both Willie and William amongst other not so nice names.

His picture is beautiful! I'm suprised he's not in the database - I know there are US show dogs listed - I just assumed UK dogs would be there too.

I know what you're going through with the loss - it's certainly devestating when unexpected. As someone told me once - the hurt never goes away, it just doesn't hurt as much over time.

My other 1/2 is in the same boat - he just can't bring himself to getting another GH right now after losing his girl back in November. I keep telling him - he'll know the right dog when it comes along. I'm sure you will too.

At 1am this morning 3 weeks after William passed away Willow was born. He was 6 days late having been due on the 8th.

The bitch only had 2 pups 1 dog and 1 bitch the bitch was already spoken for so we will be having the dog. He is blue with long white socks. I have no photos of him at the moment but willput some up as soon as his breeder sends me some.
