In the convertible with Star was Max, a now-departed dog that we used to houndsit regularly. One day I took Max and Star to a new county dog park west of Chicago, which had a boggy, shallow pond over a hill and out of sight from everyone. The boys disappeared from view for quite awhile, finally returning extremely satisfied with themselves after cooling off in a mud wallow!

Star is in the foreground but if you look to right of center, there's Max in the background, also with a great coat of mud on his underside and butt.

That was the afternoon that I brought Max and Star home and we took a shower together!
