I am posting this on behalf of my my good friends and the wonderful dogs at Greenfields Greyhound Rescue.

The Autumn Action to raise much needed funds for Greenfields Greyhound Rescue and Erin Rescue begins on 11th November and runs until 21st November with lots of lovely things up for grabs (not all dog related). If you want to do your Christmas shopping from the comfort of your own home or just treat yourself please support our auction and help a homeless greyhound at the same time.

Many thanks and please take a look.

Ruth

Maybe you can tell your friends to remove the LUSH gift Box from the Auction, this was the 1st thing I seen and considering that Lush have just ran a campaign to smear Greyhound Racing I dont think too many people would entertain this.

Good luck with the event anyhow.

I can see what you are saying Dave after their recent campaign, but these gifts have all been donated to the charities-they are not their own merchandise.
I am sure neither charity wishes to offend or upset anyone, their only aim is to make as much money as they can for the dogs.

Bid already in Ruth ! Could you do me a favour too . Can you donate online to Greenfields or make a donation via paypal - would you check for me ? ; and I rang a few months ago to see if they were going to start accepting old mobile phones and printer cartridges to raise money via the recycling route but have not yet read of any update. I know some of the other charities do this and a couple of pounds here and there for such items can soon add up and help the cause......Thanks.

Greenfields Greyhound rescue kennels and Sanctuary are based in Staffordshire where Caroline runs them alone. Unfortunately she doesnt have a facility to accept paypal donations or recycling goods, and as she is so busy at the moment it is finding the time to try to do this. There are volunteers in the Oswestry area who help fundraise and foster, your call may have gone to them, unfortunately, they too do not have the facilities to be able to do this at the moment.
If you do wish to donate directly to the rescue, you can contact Caroline or myself [email protected] and I will make sure that they get it as I go down regularly to help out where I can.
Good luck with your bronze!

Thanks Ruth will bear that in mind for the future.

I meant to ask too - was this a girl you rehomed through Merseysde RGT ? Her new owner recently stopped to speak to me while I was out walking our old boy ; she's now happily living with another Grey' and 3 or 4 other dogs - spending most of the time ( as they do ) sleeping on the sofa !

Yes Douglas,
Pretty Princess was one of 'our lot' she was pregnant and went on to have a litter of 5 pups, I sponsored one (Elvis) and a friend of mine paid for her and the other pups to be at a kennels until she was well enough, and her pups were old enough to be re-homed.
I know she has a wonderful home and is well loved through the feed-back we have received from them via the Merseyside RGT.

I'm sure she's getting spoilt rotten Ruth and she has a handsome son of Brett Lee to keep her company too. Still haven't talked my better half in to letting me get a Grey' yet; and our fella is getting on in years ( 11/12 ) and has developed eye problems ( early stages of cataracts ) it sometimes has me thinking if she'd kick me out if I just came home with one - but knowing my luck she'd let the dog in and tell me to go and find a park bench to sleep on LOL !

Oh Douglas, you really must get a greyhound, there are so many dogs/bitches out there looking for a wonderful home and family like yours.
Have a look at Anna on Greenfields website, she is an absolute doll, she has lived in a home and was picked up from a pound when owners circumstances changed. She is looking to be spending her first Christmas for a while in kennels.
Just get her as a present for your wife!!! LOL
I remember my ex-husband telling me that he would leave if I brought anymore home, I promptly retired Jelly and brought her home.
Take care
Ruth

Anna does look a little cracker ( those big bright eyes ! ) I'm sure she'd be no problem - hopefully I can weaken the good lady's defences and talk her round ; wouldn't bank on it but at least our lad is on my side..... Made up that Abbey & Taz found a new home and also big Simba ; it's nothing more than any of them deserve. Can't believe the ' crew ' are nearly 4yo - how time flies ; I'm sure your Storm is enjoying the good life.
