It is with deep sadness that I am writing to say that after 5 long weeks of post-op complications that the decision was made to have my boy Taffy put to sleep yesterday. Many trips to our local vets and a few to the out-of-ours service still couldn't ease the pain Taffy was in following the spleenectomy (?Spelling) and following some sleepless nights where Taffy was in intense pain, I took him to Lingfield where Jason discovered that the nerve reaction in his lower spine was limited and he had immense pain on his left rear hock in the joint. He had lost another 3 kilos of weight whilst on steroid painkillers and eating normal size meals taking him to 7kilos wight loss in total. After x-rays showed no visible tumor in that area but with the reaction of immense pain when trying to lie Taffy on that side, it was felt that he had a tissue tumor which could have taken weeks to show on radiology and we felt it unfair for him to continue with a pain filled life until this could be confirmed. Run pain free at the rainbow bridge my sweet cuddle monster, you will be missed so much by me and all your greyhound and non-greyhound friends. RIP Taffy aka Jazz Night 04/12/2000-10/03/2011 adopted from Battersea in May 2005. As I don't have access to update his profile, could someone with access please do this for me. Thanks Jane
