Q. how do u stop a greyhound from being impregnated?
A. put in in a seperate yard or kennel
Q. how do u stop a cat from getting impregnated?
A. put in in a cage or seperate room
Q. how do you stop your child getting pregnant?
A. get the pill or rod in the arm (bet u dont mutilate there genitals)

all three of these can be used on any pet/person
there are anti pregnancy pills for animals , there are abortion pills for pets too and we all have doors in our houses and its easy to buy a cage
lol

Wayne, I think you just answered the question "dangerous Greyhound" Our children show agression? We teach them Not to do it! To me it is no different than parenting, we teach our children right from wrong, and as responsable trainers or pet owners we should teach our animals right from wrong! very simple really! My licence has the word Trainer on it, my guess is that it is on there for a reason!

why didnt i think of saying that lol
indeed we are resposibal for training therefore we must

Wayne, didnt you just have a rib removed from your greyhound?

because you wanted him to chase a lure around a track for money?

Bit hypocritical if you ask me, had he have just been a pet it never would have been done, so you 'altered' your dog

so you do what you want for your dog for racing and they do what they need to for rehoming

Banger Harvey, great dog, will NEVER breed a litter, simply because he is already desexed, there are quiet a few dogs and bitches racing that will never breed

no dogs balls are cut off when desexed, so Wayne I would say , no you dont know how the procedure goes

Here in QLD if your hound is not desexed you pay a higher rego fee.

I have had both here at my place+there is no differance in there attitude.

If a pensioner wants to save a G-Hound for a pet then they should be paid+not sacrifised by the all mighty dollar.

I dont remeber you saying that was the reason, it is on a thread here.

I would imagine that your grandmother dog actually had testicular cancer, no vet cuts off a dogs balls, ask your vet

Wayne - it is against the law in Victoria for us to rehome an undesexed or agressive dog.

i will ask the vet.
on here it say the dog was in severe pain and wouldnt corner,
when taken to the veti was informed the rib was found to be poking into his kidney and there was a lump full of blood surrounding the area, the vet suggested he go under straight away due to the internal bleeding,

i may never race him again as i only race / trial the dogs the give them a run i dont do it for profit and he seems quiet happy laying here on the couch

if you like you can see my facebook page where there are photos of the ribs and the blood mass limp that is aprox 2 inch in diamiter

Kyleigh, my dog was desexed via having them removed (at a leading greyhound vet) and he's just as happy and full on as he always was. I'd have it done again if need be without a problem.

the laws should be ammended , when i sold my litter i stated to the buyers that under no circumstances are the dogs to ever go into the gap program due to there policys. all dogs sold by me when done with will be bought back by me or returned to me.
thats what annoyed me with grand armour i was looking for her for over a year and had 5000 to buy her as a brood bitch and found out that due to the gap program she was destroyed as a brood bitch by being desexed and now the black armour line is dead

was it just a normal desexing or was it because one didnt drop and was he racing at the time, there can be a number of reason they are fully removed, having them fully removed in a racing grey can make a massive difference in its performance, but normally they wont do it, unless of course they were worried about cancer, I think older dogs when they are done then sometimes remove the lot, I dont see any problem at all with dexing a dog, in my mind it makes you a responsible owner not irresponsible

It always seems to be MEN who get het up when theres talk about desexing or "neutering" as we call it.

To us women it seems reasonable !

Kyleigh, he was retired after 3 starts due to injury and had them cut out after that for desexing purposes. They were normal and there was no hint of cancer.

Women love it when talk turns to guys having them cut off, why is that?

Did you just look it up Wayne ?

Its a french word used in fencing.

Used in general conversation to admit that your opponent has scored a hit.
....but I was affected and smitten by graemes comment.

it means touch but not the others, it originally started in fencing, I believe when one fencer attacked another and they avoided it with a strike of there own which touched, Touch
as in like good hit, good come back, not as in the sense to touch

Means good riposte (reply) in the vernacular. Helen's use is exactly right.
Agree Helen. The dogs don't even notice.
