My darling Polar (Condor Polar) had to be put to sleep last night he was age 9. He was fine during the day but toward the end of the afternoon was loosing the use of his back legs, other than that he was still the same old Polar giving out to me. When it came time to put him to bed he was in such a distressed state I had no option but to call the vet and he was p.t.s. at 10.15pm in the back of my car. He was a very big boy weighing over 40kgs and was a gentle giant he is the white dog in my profile. He will never be forgotten.

If it should be that I grow old and weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep.
Then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand.
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so.
The time has come, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
and please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see,
the kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
from pain and suffering I've been saved.

Run free Polar

Thank you every one for your kindness he will be dearly missed as he was a character, he was the last one I expected to go, as I have 3 girls over 12 years old and 1 has given me 2 scares. Polar will never be forgotten my husband chose him when he was a day old (and looked like a polar cub) from Michael Pickett and he reared him until he was a year old when he came over to us in the UK he badly injured his wrist at Wimbledon which ended his racing career.
