An email sent to the Greyhound Adoption Program (Victoria) from the new owners of Shazza. We thought her connections, if they are on Greyhound Data, might like to hear how she is going.

Dear Melanie and Larissa

We had a call today about Shae's (Shazza's) progress.

Shae has settled in really well.
She is very "people-oriented" and quickly makes friends of anyone she meets - family, extended family, neighbours anyone. In fact , she is a well-loved greyhound outside Kofi Beans Cafe in Main Street Croydon.

She slept outside the first two nights we had her withot any trouble but since then due to the cold weather she has slept inside, in her bed.She sleeps all through the night without any problems.

We try to walk her twice a day and play a game of kicking the squeaky ball around the yard for her to chase until she lays down. With this amount of exercise she is very settled. She also exercises herself by sprinting flat-chat around our yard which is quite large-our block is .31 of an acre.

Shae is a very gentle dog most of the time and only occasionly displays a little boisterous behaviour - usually if she has missed a bit of exercise, however this is not a problem and she responds positively to correction/direction.

The second week we had Shae , she had a 4 day holiday in a house at Apollo Bay. She behaved really well and enjoyed the long walks along the beach and the attention outside the cafes. She met an 8yo adoptee called Ray and we exchanged experiences with his owner.Shae got on well with Ray until he got too persistent with his sniffing of her "rear end".

We are extremely glad that we adopted Shae through GAP and have had much positive feedback from people who meet Shae and become aware that she is an adoptee.
We have had no hesitation in recommending your programme to other responsible people.

Please feel free to share this e-mail with Shae's former owner and foster carer.

Bye for now and keep up the good work you are doing.

Feel free to contact us at any time.

Russell and Julie
