Apologies, but i am so fed up of taking my retired racers out and recieving criticism, in the form of dissapproval of dog owners of other breeds. Muzzleing, keeping dogs on the lead, not walking far enough and generaly teaching dogs to behave in a quite way does not go down well at the local park. No wonder so many people have behaviour problems these days if they just let the dogs off with no prior training and expect all to be well. It seems unfair to be made to feel bad for keeping my dogs safe. Have any other adoptees had experiences like this?

Hi Anna,
like you, when we had the three dogs we were always having dogs run up to us off their leads but we were always told to keep ours on their leads, which we always did.
I was told by the police that three dogs were classed as a pack so we had to muzzle them as well as keeping their leads on.
I would never muzzle my dogs.
I think most people do not know enough about greys, they seem to think they are vicious,we also found a lot of people crossed the road when facing us.
Just put it down to peoples ignorance Anna. You will always get some do gooders make comments,
Kathy

Hi Anna, just as sure as you've got to drive for everyone else you've got to walk their dog for em as well. I don't bother putting a muzzle on my dogs anymore as invariably it's other dogs coming up to mine whilst on leads and giving my dogs grief, how are they supposed to defend themselves with muzzles on. I'm not sure what the answer is. Some dog owners can't even tell when your trying to do the decent thing and give em a wide birth or change route or wait to see which way there going. I love walking away from the madding crowd and at odd hours in rough weather to avoid idiots and gain enjoyment from walking animals which its supposed to be.
Take care. Mark
