Shows no bank, just BSB & Account No.

Grant,

When you put the money in, it tells you the bank. For memory it was the Bendigo Bank, when I put it in.

Cheers

Definently Bendigo Bank

That BSB look up site can come in handy.

You are a true champion Jennifer, the world needs more people like you. I have just made a small donation, would love to make a big one but have 14 greyhounds myself. Some pups, some racing and some retired, I love them all very much and it breaks my heart to read of horrible things done to greyhounds when all they do is their very best to please you. (I now need to go away and blow my nose again.)

Well I really don't know what to say after looking at the bank balance this morning!

Whilst a lot of donations have come in from our adopters, foster carers, and general facebook followers, there are also many donations from GD'ers - yes I recognise names of GD'ers past and present, plus donations without a recognisable name.

From everyone at GSN I just want to say a big "THANK YOU" - I have seen the members here come together to help out "their own" in times of flood, fire (& famine?), and now it is truly wonderful to have your help for Amos, by donating to a rehoming/rescue group.

Bringing Amos down from Sydney is a bit of a one off for us, as we generally wotk with local trainers down here in Melbourne. Unfortunately there are too many greys in pounds up there, Amos just tugged that extra on the heart strings.

We now have his release fee, quarantine boarding and transport to Melbourne covered, plus his regular vetwork. And some left over for any extra veterinary care/visits he may need, and also the special care he will require as a long term foster dog, as we need to ensure he is 100% before he heads off to his forever home. The lady who will be looking after him lost her 10 yo grey last month, and she is very much looking forward to having Amos as her new project.

Amos was picked up from the pound yesterday, and is now kenneled in isolation just in case he has any nasties from the pound. He will most likely travel down at the end of next week - will keep you updated on here, or you might like to follow his more detailed progress on our facebook page.

No doubt I too will "have to blow my nose again" when I first see him to take some photo's.

Again THANK YOU

Ann

Well done again Jenni and Ann, and to members that donated, just goes to show how many people do care about the dogs.

Its a pity there are still some that slip through the cracks however Ann your organisation is to be commended.

Good luck for the future Amos, you dont know it yet but a lot of people really care about you.

I know most of us donated because it makes us feel better, however Amos and all the other dogs can realy use our help.
Cheers June

"DONATED TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER", what a stupid comment IMO.

I know I wasn't even thinking of myself at the time as I am sure the others who donated probably felt the same way.

I saw the post, read it and watched the You Tube clip and thought "I want to help". So I did.

The only one I want to feel better because of the donation is the boy (AMOS) in question, and with thanks to people like Jenny and Ann this is going to happen.

I am in Queensland, the dog is going to Melbourne so other than a 'DONATION' I am not to sure how "ALL THE OTHER DOGS" are going to get help from me other than monetary.

Sorry for the negative reply but got a bit peeved when I read this.

Rob
What I meant was that it leaves us with a warm feeling having helped and that they need the money to help other dogs. So instead of feeling good about donating you have left me with a nasty feeling, thanks

This has been a great effort from all involved.

Now it took VIC to take the dog from NSW, why havent we got a safety net here? and for that fact what about the other states?

This is a good news story for the whole industry as in helping him and needs to be replicated in every state so dogs dont get into this situation in the first place.

Cant the owners and trainers of dogs that win big races for example donate something from thier prizemoney in every state to fund one in conjunction with the TAB and state bodies that make money from registrations and so forth? why hasnt this been done as gap does take time and sometimes dogs need homes asap. The rspca is no place for any dog, especially a greyhound of course they are looked after however they have a timeframe on thier life.

jmo and again well done to Jenni for bringing amos for help, and to all that have donated, so very well done..

Hi All,

Amos arrived in Melbourne today. He has been vet checked, bloodwork done, skin scrapes done, thyroid test, lump on his head aspirated - that's "all" I think. He weighed in at 27.8kg's - 35ish will see him comfortable as a pet.

He is very timid at the moment - he has no idea what the hell is going on, but seems to feel safe with his foster carer.

I have uploaded some photo's to his album on the GSN facebook page, which will be updated regularly.

Cheers
Ann

ok - so I have put a new pic of Amos in my profile - taken yesterday

His 9.5kg weight gain has steadied and his latest blood tests show that he is "almost normal".

Amos is now ready to start his search for his forever couch and we wish him the best of luck.

Well I don't know if any of you caught a glimpse of a black greyhound on the chanel 9 news last night - it was Amos, or Mossy as he is now called.

Eventually adopted by his long term foster carer, he has returned the 'favour' and saved his owner from an attack. So exactly a year after Amos was saved' he has done some saving himself. What a lovely story.

Here is a link to newspaper article.

Maybe the steak and two veg took him by surprise ..LMAO .. I think he should get a BM.... Australian Bravery Decorations recognise acts of bravery by members of the community. They selflessly put themselves in jeopardy to protect the lives or property of others.
