Run free, Pixie! It sounds as if she had a lovely retirement with you, Sharon, and found herself a new 'job' looking after the other dogs. Hope you're not all missing her too badly. Clare and Doc x

I know exactly how you must be feeling at the moment Sharon - it's so difficult when you have to let them go.... R.I.P Pixie.
Many thanks for giving Pixie such a wonderful retirement Sharon. As soon as I arrived at your house with her it was obvious that she was going to have a great future with you and your dogs . Thanks again David
RIP Pixie, she will always have a special place in my heart.

alison did you breed pixie?? Thank you david for your kind words, i remember the day she arrived like it was yesterday, she took over, stole the toys and wouldnt let the others near them, then came aoife (smooth classic) she put pixie in her place! Dont you just love them x
Hi Sharon, yes we did breed her.. She had one race and was fought with after the winning line. This spooked her and she jumped the fence and ran off. It was mid summer and very hot, she had her race jacket and muzzle on so could not catch anything to eat. We spent a week trying to find her, searching out in the country and nearby villages , doing a wider and wider search and also kept going back to near the track. Eventually after a week we found her, she had sore feet and had lost a lot of weight , but was happy to be home and we never raced her again. I will never forget her... She was a very special girl and always was Pixie..

I remember David telling me that alison, how awful for her, she hadnt a bad bone in her body though did have a fight with my lurcher as he nipped her (he was guarding his bone) she hammered him big style, but that was that, she was very close to willow (shamford finish) who died in august last year. I will miss her alot, did you know she had von willesbrand disease? Cost me a fortune as every procedure she had she had to have a special drip, her spay alone cost 1350!!! Anyway, shes gone now, will miss her dearly Im sure you have seen her wee pics on my profile xx
Sharon, she will definately be remembered by us for more than one occasion. When we moved to Ireland we brought her over in the back of our van with her one week old litter to Carlton Bale.. All the customs people were coming up to have an Ahhhhh at them lol.

Hi again Sharon, She was born in Durham and moved over to Ireland with Alison and Steven when they relocated their breeding kennels to Ireland. Pixie had just had her Carlton Bale litter and they were very young when they moved over., hence the oohs and aahs from the customs people.

thanks david, I like to know about them, just found out recently that willow, the other girl no longer with us, had a litter not registered on here, and her son is living in portugal, retired! Thanks for letting me know :)
Nice stories about Pixie. Its nice to know that when people home a dog, they still keep them in mind. I have re-homed a few, and still look on the Greyhound boards, to see if their doing well. RIP Pixie, you had a great life, just like so many of our own retirees.
So very sorry to hear this Sharon, lovely to read the little stories about Pixie. She was a very good age. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. RIP little lass
