Maybe some of you here are near enough (Tipperary in Ireland) and might show your sympathy in a hard moment to the family left with the 37 Greyhounds.
An elder trainer has fallen ill and was admitted to hospital after his wife died only this week. HUG is trying to help out with getting the dogs saved, but will need helpers. Kennels, foster homes, rescue space, anything that will help save these Greyhounds might be greatly appreciated.
Contact details and information about the charity can be found here EXTERNAL LINK
and R.I.P. to the lady without knowing her name

Yesterday it was reported that there was a greyhound trainer in Kerry with a large number of dogs in danger due to the trainer falling ill and being unable to take care of the dogs. HUG would like to thank everyone who has offered help or made a donation towards the care of these dogs, your support is really appreciated in a difficult situation. HUG has had a long relationship with this trainer and are pleased to be in a position to assist him at this time. After consultation with the trainer today, HUG volunteers have collected several dogs for boarding with other trainers and have agreed a plan with him to take in several more on the weekend to go to other kennels or foster situations before they can go to forever homes. There are not quite as many dogs as originally estimated, however it is still a significant number to take in all at once. We would also like to thank our rescue partners in Belgium, the UK and around Europe who have offered to take some of these dogs once they have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and are ready to travel. The trainer very much appreciates our help, although he finds it difficult to part with his dogs as they are an important part of his life and much loved. Please stay tuned as we find out more details about these dogs and some will appear on our website for adoption.
I can confirm what Yvonne says is the truth. This man does not put his dogs down, he has family and many friends to help if it were needed and there was no "danger" situation.

well its nice to see there was help there if needed , thank god the family are looking after them ,not always the case.
You are right of course Mary, there are times when help is needed but not in this case, the family are just as much into the dogs.

I am sorry if what I found was overacted. There was also a mistake about where the dogs are.
All that should not have been. But might result out of the fact, that there are always so many people involved in cases like this and facts change by being whispered down the lane.
What can be seen out of this is, that in case someone really needs help with the dogs, the community cares. And that is what counts in the end I think.
I never intended to talk bad about anyone, hopefully this was not misunderstood.
