Hello Norman, I remember you and I even remember the two of us emailing about your brindle Ozzy (Solent Rocket - Iam I right?) and black Dotty (Solent Fragle) - it was roughly one year ago. So now I do not feel very happy to read here you never heard anything back?
About the twins Solent Magic and Houdini, they went together to a good home close to Berlin, I will be happy to send you a few pictures of them.
Is your address at @gmail.com still working?
All the best, Lucie

We have rehomed 5 dogs through paws and igb. We always send a letter with them telling their new owner a little about their characters, and ask just to be told that they are settled and happy. As yet we have never heard anything back and it is very frustrating. We applaud the igb and paws for their hard work and commitment but would really like to know that our dogs have found happy and loving homes.
Their names where,
Solent Rocket
Solent Magic
Solent Houndini
Solent Fraggle
Solent Meryfeild.
They went Italy and Chech republic.

Sometimes it depends on the homes they go to and which adoption group they go through .Some of the groups are very anti racing and think once we give our dogs up for adoption we dont care anymore and hate that we race them .They think they are all treated badly .They wont even buy the gain dog food anymore as they say it sponsers greyhound racing and they do not want to work with the igb with the help in paying transport .I was told by one person that if i loved my dog i wouldnt put it up for adoption .EGN and GACI both work with the IGB and send updates on dogs adopted .If families are told how bad we are to our dogs then the families say why should we bother with their old owner they gave the dog away so why do they care .PAWS works with SOS LEVRIERI (Italy) and if you send your dogs this way you will never hear about them again they are very very very anti racing ...

Hi Paddy, you can contact Herve Marysael, he is President with Greyhounds Rescue Belgium. He will be more than happy to help you. He got us in touch with all our dogs over there. We are going to have our own gathering over there this summer. It will be great and we are really looking forward to it. The email is [email protected]

They dont believe in that you are just a horrible person because you race .Potential adopters are told how badly the dogs are treated and they give a big sob story so that the familys already dont like you not even knowing who you are .They got hold of pictures of mine and made a poster with a dog of mine that i had taken to the beach and in a photo beside it there were all greyhounds dumped in a bin .They wrote on it that my photos were fake and once my dogs finished i put them down .I have never put a dog to sleep they have been sorted out and adopted or kept by myself .They have new owners brainwashed .So if you love your dogs and want to hear how they are getting along in their new homes please never leave them with PAWS OR LIMERICK ANIMAL WELFARE .

I sent out three to Italy (their new names were 'Brando', 'Evan' and 'Veronique') but I'm not seeking information on them at all (I have three retired ones myself now so enough on my plate). I met Lilian Mazzola of GACI and am fully confident that the dogs get very good homes, they'd more than likely be dead if they weren't rehomed in Italy, that is the stark reality.
I understand that people are well meaning and that circumstances may have forced them to have a dog rehomed but I'd say that once you get them rehomed just let the new owner get on with it and don't be pestering them for photos etc. Next thing is people will want to go on holiday and visit the dogs to see if the dogs remember them :-)
