I rehomed dogs through paws and igb...I have updates all the time from one I sent to Sweden who is living like queen and it great to see her being so cared for with the tons of pics her owner Malin Agrell sends me.
The other dogs another to Sweden I heard he goes sailing now and has great owners I asked through the grapevine for info but no replies..3 went to Czech republic absolutely nothing there and two to italy ..nothing as well except one photo on data.
I just want to see if they are well

GOOD LUCK with that one Dave.
We re home all our dogs, 9 dogs in 2012 and 4 dogs in 2013
We are in contact with all our dogs new owners by email, facebook or phone. Its great to see how they are doing.
The only one we cant get any info on and the one we really wanted info on is the one that went to GACI
If I had known that was going to happen, he would not have gone there.
Its the last dog GACI gets from us.

Racing Name and date of birth of the greyhound?

The GACI from about 200 greyhounds up for adoption each year.
We are volunteers, and we are not always in front of their computers or phones
The greyhound's GACI, are all in the family, we are very strict and serious.
Although there are no pictures, it is not always the fault of the GACI, we also adopters who can not send photos via email, etc.
and humanly we forget....
There are always explanations and no secrets.

You obviously care a great deal about your dogs Oisin and that's just splendid and I understand your concern about the lack of information you have experienced regarding their welfare. I have to
say though that I have found CACI to be an efficient and caring organisation, I will be forever grateful to Lillian and Igb for finding forever homes for three of my greyhounds and contrary to your feelings, I would not want my dogs to go anywhere else.

I'm just wondering that all these dogs are still registered on your name on IGB.
Is there no need of registering a owner change with the IGB, CACI or other organisations?

Werner - you hand in the ID card when the dog is rehomed. There are no transfer of ownership done.

Hi Karin,
thanks for that, but who is legally responsible for the dog?
The owner who is registered on IGB website?

When we take dogs into the rescues over here we get the owner/trainer to fill out the green retirement GBGB form stating the new owner as being the charity. The charity then become the 'legal' owner of the dog and the name on the dogs GBGB microchip will be changed to the charity on receipt of the form. It is also proof that the owner/trainer has agreed to hand the dog over in the first place - it just saves any future problems for us doing it this way.

On answering Daves initial question, we do ask for feedback on all the dogs so we can tell the 'old' owners, sadly though once they are re-homed it is then upto their new owners to do this and not all of them will.

We have rehomed 5 dogs through paws and igb. We always send a letter with them telling their new owner a little about their characters, and ask just to be told that they are settled and happy. As yet we have never heard anything back and it is very frustrating. We applaud the igb and paws for their hard work and commitment but would really like to know that our dogs have found happy and loving homes.
Their names where,
Solent Rocket
Solent Magic
Solent Houndini
Solent Fraggle
Solent Meryfeild.
They went Italy and Chech republic.

We rehomed Neville's Petal via IGB to Belgium and she has been blessed to find a fantastic home. We got another email this Christmas to update us. She's living a life of luxury judging by all the photos and messages we've received.
