Rhyno: Did you hear that mighty roar from up near the Qld border? when Clanger limped of. (D-Day Monday contract talks) 33yrs old!
chasing Dylan Sheils, put all your money and efforts into him.

Hey post me later in the week, after a few spliff's etc and tell me you watched a replay of last nights match and Goddard had another blinder!!

BTW Isn't Hooker lucky he is so unco! couldn't punch a guy on hands & knees only 1 metre away.

FGS Goddard went off early in the first quarter.

Burgoynes 36 this yr and hes going around again, and I'm tippin you'll hear the biggest whoo hoo from the Oak Park area if the Bombers happen to roll the Tigers and Port and make the 8.

Hooker, I cldn't believe it. I thought he wlda copped a week, blessed!

I don't want another small, we've got about 7 of the little buggers. I'll keep Tipper,Smith, Razzle Dazl & Merrett, trade the rest(Mcgrath, Parish and Collier). Cant win flags consistently with a mosquito fleet. Need another ruckman/fwd like Paddy and an big bodied midfielder imo.

secret meeting with Goddard and the Match committee.........hush hush post meeting.........all Goddard says is that we are all on the same page.........woosha tight lipped.

my GUESS: he wont play 2019 and may be offered a coaching role PROVIDING there is one available in 2019. Don't think they wanna lose him or his football brain at Bomberland.

All sorts of scenarios being played out thru the media about BJ in Melb atm.

----------------------------------------------------------------

i cant believe that even if we win the next 2 (13 wins) we most likely wont make the 8 cos of easy games for Cats & Norf

For some reason you seem to have it in for Goddard, Terry.

He averages over 11 kicks, 12 handballs & 6 marks per game for the 2018 season so far and is ranked equal 40th among all players for 2018 in AFL stats to date.

If you've got a problem with that suggest you write in to the club or better still barrack for another team.

So I doubt he will get any 'tap on the shoulder' other than to ask if he'll be prepared to stay on for another year, at a guess.

Gee aint Karma a bitch!!

you still dont get it.........his form of approx 22 touches a game indicates he can still play decent football at a high level.....our 'quarterback' if you like, i.e., much of the play goes through him, the 22 touches p/game indicate that.

the club tho have decided to go another way, that was obvious to me about a week or so ago after him meeting with the match committee and the coach.

it will be interesting to see the lineup next yr without him, I hope they aren't going to direct play thru Hurley, who do you think will take his place from the current group ?

Watching the game last week, it was very noticeable how easy BJs opponents were running away from him when they had the ball. He looked old. No surprises to hear he will be cut from the list.

............(I'm )not necessarily a Goddard fan either..........

Clearly the English language is a challenge Terry.

Seriously, I'm fine with Goddard gone, my concern is who do they replace him with ? Hurley isn't an accuarate enough a kick. Perhaps Saad,Mckenna or Merrett if they want to run him off the backline perhaps two out of those 3, but they aren't of much size. The other good positional kick we've got is McNeice but he may not be experienced enuf at the top level.

Richmond have Vlaustin & Houli, get it?

Rhyno: Now listen carefully, after the Peptide debacle with Million dollar fines, Priority draft picks gone, Finals appearance taken away, Players allowed to leave. (Ryder, Melksham, Hibberb, Carlisle, Monfries, etc) Coaches, Admin crucified, Allowed some pick up players so we were still viable to put a team on the paddock. We have exceeded expectations. Still have Mitch Brown & Matty Deas still playing. We have no Depth! Ambrose? Luenberger?
Wont be a force for another 5 years!
Look at Carlton: Fined a Million & lost draft picks for deliberate Tanking some 6-7 years ago, still struggling.

BJ's salary will pay for the development of 3 or 4 young blokes into the future.

Terry, I hear all that, I understand all that, I don't however subscribe to any 5yr plan - not at Bomberland we dont!........and why wld you bring the worst recruiting club in the history of the AFL (as far as the draft goes), and our arch enemy into the conversation and compare them to us! Geezus what is wrong with you ?

I just want to know who you think our quarterback/s will be now that Goddard's gone ? Are you avoiding the question ?

btw re BJ's salary ? Does that mean if there was still a veterans list, wld you have kept Goddard ?

------------------------------------------------------------------

fair point FarQ.........I think they may have someone such as De lid in mind. I just wanted to know who(not Sheils I hope), cos we dont have a ready made quarterback imo. I'll just have to be patient for the draft as you say.

Jesus Rhyno, I was just making a comparison with Carlton's woes. I wont ever feel sorry for them! Delideo? Broken down, over the hill.
Until they change the rules (re; crowding) you need players with amazing endurance and speed.(Dylan Shiels)!
There is no 5 yr plan, I expect it will take that long to recover from all the turmoil and once again become a force (Top 2 in Melb)
Patience and astute buying, recruiting, will get us there.
Goddard is gone!!! you were wrong!! Get over it!!!

BTW FarQ is trying to off/load the dead wood at GWS! FarQ it will be interesting to see how Cameron, Lobb & Patton (If he returns) Handle the pressure of Finals footy this year!

Because you asked Huss, I shall give you my thoughts on GWS.
Leading the Swanning by 20pts then losing by 20. Why? Because a top 4 finish would mean playing West Coast in Perth or Richmond at the G. Bugger that. Watch them slap Melbourne this week and get a home final.
Most important players are Toby Greece, Nick Haynes and Lachie Whitfield. Also a guy called Zac Williams played in the 2s last week. Star. And Himmelberg is built for finals.
Now for the Bummers. Leave Hooker forward and get Tomlinson from us to play down back with Hurley.

Geezus, Hooker up fwd...........Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Clearly they're replacing Goddard with Aaron Francis, his kicking is ordinary too. We wld have to be the club that has the most footballers that can't hit targets. Parish - great ball getter, but cant hit anybody on the chest on a consistent basis, and the club thinks he's a champion in the making.

Wrong about Goddard, really ? Once again ,I'm not a fan of his, I just cant justify pissing him off if we don't get someone as good to direct the play accurately and on a consistent basis.

What about Dean Jones remember him ? Lets axe him from the Aussie team when he averaged 77 in the previous test series. Like you, those selectors made emotional decisions.

Draft roll on........we will see.

Where's that form been all year? Thought I was watching Richmond in Red Jumpers! Brilliant stuff, albeit against a team under enormous pressure to win. Team instructions? Go out and enjoy yourselves?.......Left wanting more!....Long wait till March 2019.
