I can beat that $6, Huss. If I go to Caulfield Sat flash the Saints members ticket and get free entry saving $20 and that's the way it should be, you don't get that at Albion Park on Wednesdays. Gee Du$ty sure did milk the Tiges using the Kangas as pawns. Hey Tor did you know those arseholes at the AFL were selling up to 4 guests passes to AFL members reserve in the great southern stand at the MCG. A lot of AFL members who pay $400 a year have missed out and are spewing as these tickets are bobbing up on sites 3 times their value, farking idiots. - Macwollie

95K at a training session really Tezza were they handing out free calves blood lol

I couldnt get access to said guest tickets, are the people working at the AFL automatic MCGmembers, or did they pick them up from a table in the long room dirty buggers, its more than $400 a year now too.

Yesa Dusty, god love him, just wanted a extra $200K a year. Once we stumped that up he signed. Lucky as this new pup I have dusty will be called dusty on fire, if he went to norths it would be dusty the traitor

Tor ring the Salvation Army (Melb). They are usually given a few tickets. Surprised Macwollie didn't suggest that option. (Bet he uses them). Dusty a soldier of FORTUNE! All that Tough Ink must of cost plenty (Jake has a Tattoo business?)
I dashed down to Melb in 84 when the Bombers beat the Mayblooms, no ticket (God bless scalpers)paid $60 for a $24 face value ticket City end, right behind the Hawks cheer squad. Loved it!

That would have been great wow 1984 that when they still had the ice fights at the MCG in bay 13 if I remember correctly!
Dustys dad is a bikie, they are pretty loyal but also like money apparently so he was loyal enough to stay for the extra 200K lol
The salvos really ? How do they get tickets help from above maybe?

I can remember back in the 70'80's Tor, The Salvo's were always given Finals tickets (For the Down&Out's I suppose) If you couldn't get a ticket, the Salvo's were an option. That was a long time ago. More commercial now.
Dusty has been shopping himself around now for 3 years. In his prime now! 7 years??, Buddy 10? blackmail!

Blackmail LOL far from it. Tigers didn't have to pay that figure if they didn't want it.

No different than the average Joe at work if another company thinks your work more but your boss doesn't you move on simple.

I'm not a fan of these long term deals

Your Joking Darren! probably have 4/5 years left, last 2 pension!
Average Joe? Plumber, Electrian, Chippie, Bricklayer etc can ply their trade for 40 years! Footballer ? Chalk & Cheese my friend.
Long Term contracts only work one way.(Player or Coach) cant lose!

Like I said they didn't have to sign him. They could have let him go and picked up another player who wasn't going to be on the pension in 5 years.

If you go off this year he's probably the best player in the AFL if not the top 4-5. So imo he's worth 1mill plus easy based on othe players.

Have you heard of a player called BUDDY FRANKLIN?? On your theory he blackmailed the Hawks...... what happened did the get blackmailed???

You do have one thing right contracts go both ways.....

: You pay the market value or the players leave
: if the club doesn't want you your sacked or traded

Dazza: Dusty is in the Top 4/5 players in the comp! NOW!!!
And yes, they are paying him a Mil/Plus a year. At 27 yrs old will he be playing at the same standard after 30? let alone 34 last year of his contract? I think not! Love to be a player/Manager! Not blaming the Player, he's out to get the best deal he can. How many young players would you get for his 1 contract? These deals can send Clubs broke. Hope they have good sponsorship backing. imo

WRONG MAC: Albion entry is FREE at all meetings! Bastards get their money back at the Bar $6 a stubbie ($144 a Carton) No wonder i'm dry? How's the Grog at Bungy land? the stuff you stole of me!

I agree mate these contracts can really hurt a club for years. Unfortunately this is the game today. For me Dusty is a big risk but could Tigers afford to loose him ( I think not )

You could get 3-4 players BUT let's be honest any young player ( 22-25 ) that got ability will demand $500-700 plus and most of these players aren't good enough to clean Dusties boots.

Tigers could not afford to loose him full stop.

IMO Tigers window is in the next 2/3 years. When Rance retires boy will the Tigers need to fill a massive hole. He's there most important player by a country mile and back 10 times. They just need a couple more players to be the real deal. A key forward would them go deep into September.

Langers, you'll know the answer to this one.
How many flags have Sydney won since they got Buddy for 10mill?
And how many have the Hawks won since he left?
One player doesnt make a team. And I reckon big contracts like this divide a team.

So your saying if they let Dusty go they can go on and win a flag?? NO CHANCE

One player doesn't make a team but a guy like Dusty sure helps you big time.

The problem is mate the game has changed. All clubs will be paying a million plus for players on longer contracts.

I don't think it has divided Sydney do you?? Yes we have lost players and will loose more but I think it was a bold move i for one was happy. I guess if Sydney can win a flag it will be justified if we don't then people will think it was the wrong move.

Trust me over the next five years these long term contracts will be a plenty.
