Butch and Hawk were slowly creeping towards a larger opening in
the tunnel ahead, when Hawk motiioned for Butch to stop.
He quickly took his water bottle from his belt, and indicated
Butch to do the same, then he took his kerchief and moistened
it, before tieing it around his nose and mouth.
When this was completed, Butch asked him why!
" We have struck a pocket of what is called "still air", you
will notice that the air seems heavier here, that's because the
bend coming up is trapping all the volatile fumes, and other of
the nasties caused from tunneling, we will have to turn off our
head lamps for fear of heat, as the gases are sensitive to heat.
This will be a good place to trap any unforseen pursuers, when
we make our escape.
There has to be a ventilation shaft nearby, that filters the flow of foreign matter. making it less dangerous, water will also act as a conductor without the airflow.

Dish and Tom, could hear the steady hum of a motor somewhere
ahead, which Dish guessed to be an air filter, he to would use
this device as a conductor.
Tom, pointed to a rough hewn stool, aside a gaping storage hole
carved into the right hand side.
Dish signaled his intention, to approach the entrance, and act
as a new hand if challenged.
It was only a few minutes, that he took to complete this task,
but to Tom it felt like ages.
Finally, Dish reappeared with a shrug of his shoulders, there had been no one there, but it was stacked with boxes of the
completed product, no doubt waiting to be collected soon, as
the run, was to be this weekend.

Meanwhile, the others had proceeded along further, when the sound of talking drifted up to them, it was hard to estimate the distance it had to travel, so they cautiously inched on further.
Butch, steadied Hawk, and mentioned that the motors for the fans
would be somewhere outside of the mine, too risky having fuel or
a spark ignite in here!
So, they elected to retrace their way back, and set a charge for
the "still air" juncture, however they had to make contact with
Dish and Tom.
Reluctantly Butch turned on his combat mike, and quitely called
in the call sign, after a few seconds Dish came on station, and
reported the stash find. Butch told him to set a charge there, the timing for one hour, then proceed back to the entrance to
their shaft. Hopefully, they could return unheeded on their
return journey. Just before Butch left on the return, he removed
his combat mike, and set it alongside of the shaft, and turned
it up high, Hawk looked curiously at him, but did'nt say a word.
The setting of the charges went okay, and they now attempted to
retrace their way back to the shaft entrances before being seen.
If everything went to plan, they should'nt have blood on their hands, unless it came to a shootout.

With nerves on edge, and their reflexes highly strung. they got to the shaft ends undetected, now came the task of negotiating
the entrance out into the night safely. But would they!
