The Tab betting activity is very interesting .

Those bets are also up in the air with Zousain being treated for an elevated temperature after his first-up run.

One of the more surprising bets last week was a $500 win and $1500 place on import Patrick Erin who is also in the Waller stable at $201/$51 for a $177,000 collect.

The seven-year-olds best result in Australia was a fifth in the Manion Cup in March.

Lloyd Williams Homesman was the big firmer, from $101 to $34, after his second in the Dato Tan Chin Nam, with one punter snatching $51.

Another punter went early with his $500 wager at $51 on Japanese import Hush Writer, which flopped at the Valley.

After the release of Melbourne Cup weights, German import Sound Check attracted a $1500 bet at $51 (for a $76,500 return) and is now a $26 chance.

MELBOURNE CUP MARKET

03/09/18: PUNTER NABS BEST PRICE

BEFORE Best Solution was confirmed for the Melbourne Cup, one punter took a calculated gamble the Goldolphin stayer would be heading to Australia.

The $51 was snapped after with the TAB accepting a $350 wager before Best Solutions Group 1 success in the Grand Preis von Baden (2400m) in Germany on Sunday.

He is now $26.

Thanks once again Bernard for a concise and current update on
Hammada and Chelkar. Hammada looks to be a cup chance should he start.

Ron, Hamamada would be a nice type coming down and would be a great chance, I still have not found anything from New Zealand yet, must check out what Murry Baker is up to i am sure he will be crossing the Tasman with something worthy we can get our teeth into , he normally starts them first up in Sydney then comes down to Melbourne so the Spring Carnival in Sydney will expose some nice gee gee's . Will do some research on the stable today and ones to watch from the land of the white cloud.

Racing to day at Royal Randwick could expose some spring talent.

I really did not come away with anything from the Valley last night .

But at Mornington to day there is one that could take out the Ansett classic, Harrison is ready to go one better have a little each way .

Today was a improved run over the 2500 meters in the Bart cummings
beaten 4 len I think he is back on track .
He is no Magic Circle though, I still like Magic Circle
look I am nearly going to declare Magic Circle not yet at this point in time, he is a very very good horse
