He favoured the batsmen alright...he did have a good simple qbatting theory though and it only required 3 strokes, when asked why he was so successful on his 1st tour of England when most others failed, his answer was, "When the ball is moving around, the best way to play is always forward on the FRONT FOOT, unless the ball is short enough to either go back and hook or cut"...not a bad theory which would probably still be good practice today.
