QLD
Billy Slater, Darius Boyd, Greg Inglis, Justin Hodges, Brent Tate, Jonathan Thurston, Cooper Cronk, Matt Scott, Cameron Smith, Petero Civoniceva, Nate Myles, Sam Thaiday, Ashley Harrison, Matt Gillett, Dave Taylor, Ben Hannant, David Shillington,
NSW
Brett Stewart, Jarryd Hayne, Michael Jennings, Josh Morris, Akuila Uate, Todd Carney, Mitchell Pearce, Trent Merrin, Robbie Farah, Paul Gallen, Glen Stewart, Luke Lewis, James Tamou, Greg Bird, Tony Williams, Jamie Buhrer, Ben Creagh

Well its that time of year and me thinks if Big Mal can utilise his big three of the bench they will run over the top of their opposites. The Qld backrow, well you can near gaurantee 80 minutes from Myles and Harrison while Sam might need a 10 minute spell. And if these guys get the momentum then you'd imagine the Havoc Inglis will create out wide. I cant see the NSW backrow continually putting these Big men down however its not the size of the dog in the fight. I do not expect to see Jennings and Morris containing their oposites either while Slater will have a field day at the back with Tate not far behind him. If Carney can get on the front foot and get his forwards going he may create some drama's through the middle. This first game will see Gallen, once again GALLANT in defeat. Tip Qld by 12 no less.

Four surgeons are taking a coffee break

The first one says, "Accountants are the best to operate on because
when you open them up everything inside them is numbered."

The second surgeon says, "Nah, librarians are the best; everything
inside them is in alphabetical order."

Third surgeon says, "Try electricians. Everything inside them is
colour-coded."

The fourth one says, "I prefer NSW fans. They're heartless, spineless,
gutless and their heads and arses are interchangeable."

A NSW supporter and a QLD supporter walk into a brothel. The whore turns to both of them and says i only have time to **** one of you as we are closing. The NSW supporter turns to her and says who do you chose ? She replies the Queenslander he wont give up !

A mans body was found floating in Brisbane river this morning wearing a NSW jersey, a pink g-string, lipstick and high heels. Police decided to remove his jersey to save his parents the embarrassment

training at NSW origin squad was delayed nearly 2 hrs this morning after a player reported finding a white unknown powder substance on the ground. The coach immediately suspended training while police and ASIO were called in to investigate. After a complete analysis experts determined that the white powdery ...substance, unfamiliar to most of the players, was in fact the goalline. GO MAROONS!!!

The state of Origin is being moved to the adult channel, apparently 17 nsw assholes being hammered for 80 minutes is too explicit for free to air tv

QLD by 8 or 2, depending upon your interpretation of events...regardless, when the chips are down, QLD always hold the aces when it counts!!!

They are too good ray.

I dont know, but I just cant workout where NSW are going during the game. Qld you can see things coming together, sometimes they score and you just sit there and think, well that was good, and its no fluke, because they do it again.

Jeff, it has a lot to do with total commitment, belief and 'pride in the jumper'...those qualities can't be bought as they are indelibly written in the heart....qualities reminiscent of the ANZAC spirit, "We will not be beaten"

Bullshit Ian.
I saw exactly what happened to the ball for Inglis to regather and score, i bet you did too. Just like last year the BooHoo's came out firing and Qld hung in there. That just shows how good a team QLD can be when put under preasure. Take nothing away from the NSW players, they had a go but again it showed that they will have to continue those same tactics for the whole match, when they eased up Qld took advantage and thats all they were waiting for. NSW made plenty of ground up the middle in those early stages and you know what, i cannot see them improving too much on that performance while QLD can play much better as last night several QLD forwards were rather quiet. The best thing NSW could do to start winning is to get rid of Stewart and you would hope next start QLD dont play to their potential in the pack, because if they do, NSW wont know what hit them.

Great win by the mighty maroons. definately the better team on the
night. N.S.W. are responsible for the rules of the game, but do
not accept the rulings, they appoint the referees ..all from
N.S.W & are never beaten on ther merits blah blah blah it goes
on & on. Either put up or shut up! or move to the womens league!

It was a pretty evenly matched game, the real difference was QLD knows how to finish off movements and score tries, helped I might add by woeful marker defence out wide, why Uate wants to rush into the centres in defence and leave his wing wide open is plainly idiotic, NSW lost their way when the try line was there for the taking and failed to breach it, evidenced by the fact that their two tries resulted from "hit or miss" kicks into the goal area which are always a 50/50 chance.
I am a NSW supporter through and through but I have to be truthful, QLD still have our measure, we are getting closer though as they are getting older and slower and our turn is not that far away, maybe not this year but certainly next year will be interesting.

Ian most games you watch today will see the side that is switched on getting the upper hand, not that i watch much of todays rubbish. The advantage comes to those that are ready to play and willing to win and sometimes we see teams coming from behind to score a win like what has happened over the past couple of weeks in the nrl. However origin is a bit different where field position and percentages play a small role in the outcome. Playing with pride and for the mates beside you is so much more valuable than a penalty goal 40 mts out. Scoring a try with 1 minute to go shows more determination and guts and more rewarding then a pat on the back for a 40/20. A champion team will always beat a team of champions, is that how the saying goes. Qld has a very experienced origin squad who knows what it takes to win these games, not just to turn up on the night but how to dig deep and never give in. Im sure if nsw had age and experience behind them they would be a better team. Civoniceva at 36 has more experience then most nsw forwards put together and just having the experienced Harrison at 31 will lift players around him. Tate and Hodges are both 30 and while i have never seen Tate play a bad game for qld, or aust he was always my choice at wing, players in the squad know the passion he brings to the team with his approach to each game, he is invaluable. The average age of the team would be around 28, young pups in terms of a league career while players like Taylor at 24 (whom i have never been to rapped in) and Inglis at 25 more than likely still turning it out for qld in 10 years. This is not your average game of football when if things dont go your way you whinge, you get back into it and keep your mind on the job and thats exactly what qld did in the early stages. Qld are not getting older and slower because they matched the early onslaught, adapted to the game and overcame their opponents. Bring on game two where your misleading belief of age will combine with your depressed mood and another loss.

Happy Days

Game 1 is over...

Now game 2...
NSW will have the shits for 'that try' and come out all guns blazing but Qld. will still win...unfortunately...if by a miracle NSW win...THEY WON'T IN GAME 3 IN QLD...!!!

Looking at the teams, QLD have up the middle of the field Slater, Thurston, Cronk, Smith, all in the Australian team, so they must be the best in these important positions. Throw in Inglis and Hodges, (backed up by some other very good players)and it is obvious that QLD have the best players/team at the moment.

They also have stability and faith in the system that picks them, and faith in the coaching staff.

All up, QLD too good.

More Rubbish Dan
I like big Petro, he is champion footballer, a great role model but he was ordinary by his own standards. Harrison was only good for laying in the "play the ball". Tate-invaluable, he wouldnt be there if Yowyeh didnt break his leg.
QLD took full advantage of NSW being down a man. NSW didnt take advantage of the opportunities they made.
From what I saw in game 1, I wouldnt be surprised if QLD gets embarrassed in Sydney.

LMAO...

i heard a whisper at my local that the referees for origin2 will be shayne hayne and tony archer cause when they referee origin the blues win

i am a blues supporter as for origin 1 we can not beat 23 players add 2 referees and 2 touch judges and 2 video referee so 23 playing 17 is not a fair go

Get a life ya drongo!
N.S.W runs the league, although they would have us believe
otherwise. They supply all referees & linesmen & Video Refs,
make the rules and never follow them. Select an all woman
team mysteriously all named "Mona" & generally have a bad
hair day. Just take the pain when you lose a game, & don't
bring this great game anymore shame.
