Surely there'd be 2000 greyhound industry participants with NSW TAB accounts. 2000 punters vote with their feet (wallets); even if they are $50 a WEEK punters (most I know would turn over MANY multiples of that!). 2000 punters GONE elsewhere; x $50 x 50 weeks betting a year .... That alone is $5million reduction in turnover on the Nsw TAB. If we can garner support from another 1,000 "higher turnover punters" (say, $500 a week), that's another $25 MILLION in turnover taken away. If the NSW TAB's take / profit is even 10% of that, there's 2.5 Million taken from the coffers. That's actually quite an easy "goal" to strive for, I believe. This is a very simple way to try to start "sending a message" to the Government and shareholders about the "VALUE" of the greyhound industry. I also know of some participants who were previously shareholders in the NSW TAB who have made proactive decisions in regard to their shareholdings. And I won't be surprised if a few who are still shareholders choose to speak VERY vocally at the AGM when it rolls around! Remember, we are NOT asking people "not to bet" ... merely to think carefully about WHERE their punting money is wagered. Why help support the very people that have been at the forefront of our demise? I have never in my life been a political activist (couldn't be further from it most of the time!) .... but I am saying that enough is enough. BAIRD, GRANT and their cohorts MUST be sent a clear and decision statement of OUR worth; and in the end, they will be taught the hard lessons. If it costs them their current jobs, I, for one, say GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!
