Ok. If anybody is interested in this year's TIPPING COMPETITION, please read on.
I'm hopeful that more members will participate with the new editions that have been included.
It's the same format as last year. One tip per week. Choose a Race? Choose a Box? Choose either Tote or Fixed TAB odds. All Tips in by 7pm EST.
The point system this year has slightly been tweaked to include "4th Placing". 1st = 10 points + TAB 2nd = 6 points + TAB 3rd = 4 points + TAB 4th = 2 points only (no TAB points)
Last year's competition only included the meeting from Saturday nights, Wentworth Park. This year's Competition will include the meetings from Saturday nights, Wentworth Park & The Meadows...basically on alternate weeks. It will also include BONUS POINTS on Group racing from both these tracks.
The following reasons is how I'll determine which meeting, & what meeting (Wpk or Meds), we'll be tipping on each week.
City tracks at both Victoria & NSW share around the same amount of Group events, but due to the fact Victoria has 2 city tracks & divides their Group events between both tracks (Spk/Med), & NSW only has 1 (Wpk)....it's therefore obvious that Wpk will hold more Group Events on a Saturday night.
So it only makes sense that we should make "The Meadows" the "DEFAULT" tipping track every Saturday night, EXCEPT & I repeat, EXCEPT when Wentworth PK are running HEATS or FINALS of a Group race(s), which will occur around 24 weeks of the year...& since the competition runs for a total of 48 weeks, this should even out the meetings between both Saturday night Clubs.
So in other words, If there's Group Heats or Group Finals running at Wpk - we place our tips at Wpk. Or - If there's NO Group Heats or Group Finals running at Wpk - we place our tips at The Meadows. It's that simple.
Now here's the kicker. BONUS GROUP POINTS will also be awarded - which are worth the same as the current point scoring system as shown above. It's just as simple. If there's a Group Race Final on at either Wpk or The Meadows, you need to place your usual tip + a tip on the Group Race Final. If there's two Group Races Finals, & in some cases, there'll be three, you'll need to place a tip for every Group race Final at that meeting. If you finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in any of those events, you'll receive points from all winning tips.
Ok, the Heats of the "PAWS OF THUNDER" start this week, but we're highly unlikely to make it due to time.
So who's in? Lets get a move on.
I want to see 50 starters minimum, but 150 would be better.
PS....Prizes are needed so if you have something to add, a suggestion or even a STUD-DOG that needs some Free-Plugs, I'm all ears.
