Pure Titanium's career was devastatingly cut short after he sustained a broken leg in the 2016 Bendigo Cup heats. His injury occurred in the catching pens after the heat in which he ran second to 2016 Traralgon Cup winner Pantera Nera by 0.007 seconds and beat the 2016 Melbourne cup winner Andos Mac across the line. His run was all the more impressive as a groin injury which occured at the Horsham Cup heats 1...9 days earlier was re aggravated on the home turn which, judging by the margin, cost him the race. Of only 15 starts he achieved 6 wins 7 seconds and 2 fourths. All of these races were ran prior to his 2nd birthday. In that short time he only had the opportunity to race at 4 tracks with his best times being- MEADOWS- 30.07, SANDOWN- 29.38 (BON), BENDIGO- 23.65 (425m), 28.07 (500m), HORSHAM- 26.88 (TRIAL).
