Due to increased running costs Greyhound-Data Limited needs to secure the websites future by generating more income.

As of the 2nd April 2021 test matings will only be available to members with Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze membership.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

The only thing that's free these days is air in your tyres (atm)
this week the daily Harvey Norman ( previously Telegraph ) went up 10% for the Mon - Fri editions, the Sat edition went up 20% & the Sunday 17%
$ 5 a month for all members would be fair enough

Hi Ashley and Robert, please go to the membership page:

https:/ CLICK HERE

The fact you are approved by PayPal automatically verifies your account.

We have over 600 new members per month with many supplying verification documentation. As a limited company we have a duty of care to do what we can to make sure the person joining is real. Unfortunately all this takes time. If we only had a forum and did not have a classified section joining would be easy.

I agree with you both that we need to change the current system and once the website is upgraded it will be possible to set up a more efficient method.

It was the nudge I needed to renew my Gold Membership. For those of us old enough to remember trawling through hard copies of The Greyhound Stud Book trust me it's worth every penny! Thanks Tony.

Total agree Kev.

When this site first started, I remember filling in thousands of the Australian pedigrees, as I have a full set of Stud-Books. The late Sue Burley would send me requests when she hit a "roadblock" in a pedigree & I'd fill in the blank spots.

There was also plenty of errors that I corrected too which included "Same-Named-Dogs" from other countries that were matched up to the wrong off-spring.

Don't wont to go back to those days.

Well done Tony & team. This announcement should secure the future of Greyhound-Data for generations to come.

i dont think thats a good idea , every millametre of the site is already covered in advertising ,we already have many many paid members , and all it will do is drive people away not gain more/new members

remember the down fall of global greyhounds ? paid subscriptions put it to Sleep permanently ,

Mick ,I dont think a dollar a day will drive any one away. The cost of technology these days is very expensive some minor changes to my web site cost $800.
Cheers jack.

Hi Michael, without additional income the website will close. I am open to any better suggestions if there are any.

While it may appear we have many many paid members as a thank you to all that helped build greyhound-data by adding dogs, races, content etc. Jason and I gave over 100 members Gold membership for life when it was introduced. Since then we have continued to reward via membership, adoption members and those that have contributed to the website in modern times.

Over the 10 years we have had the website membership had doubled as has the number of dogs, videos, race results, servers size etc. The costs have also doubled.

Greyhound Data is a GREAT site, and a must for all Greyhound enthusiasts.
You all "Pay" for Foxtell, Internet, Electricity, Rates, Motor Rego, Road Tolls etc. WHY SHOULDN'T YOU PAY TO USE GREY DATA?

User Pays should be the norm, not the exception here.
Support it or lose it. $25 bucks a year minimal payment for "Bronze " membership is terrific value.

Mick has been a gold member for many many years , and is also paid up for another few years in advance ,

having an opinion dosen't make one a tight ass or a spendthrift

Yes I remember what happen to Global Greyhounds Mick but it didn't have a full pedigree-family-tree etc, so paying for the privileged to talk on a forum was always doomed from the start.

G-D has nothing to worried about by introducing years fees imo.

Tony i think the site is becoming over complex , and getting away from what the average jo needs in relation to information
its obvious the more complex the more cost ,

obviously the team has looked at the numbers of people looking at test matings , my opinion is lots of these test matings are just fun test matings

and id suggest a lot of people doing these test matings are already paid members ,

Scrap all gold, silver, bronze memberships ,, and make the site subscription only ,, pay for what you use ? and id bet revenue would drop big time ,

if the site can only survive by charging for test matings , to people who arnt already members , then id say the site is in trouble
