The Greyhound Recorder, GRV, etc also list pedigrees on their websites. Are these copied from GD or do they have their own databases?
Admittedly you can't do testmatings on those sites.

Exactly Jamie, GD pedigrees are being used on other platforms and websites around the world to sell their dogs

Another thought, can G/D block testmating pedigrees, from being used on Facebook etc,in today's world, one would think so,negating those who use that info from G/D,TO ADVERTISE elsewhere for free, that way G/D could charge a fee for advertising if not a paid up member.

Hi Daryl, we will be looking at all ideas in the future. Sorry I have not responded much in this thread but with the problems of the "phone friendly" design and other issues I have been tied up in meetings and working with I.T.

Thank you and thank you everyone for your suggestions and support. It just goes to show how members such as yourself and all that have posted care about the future of GD.

No. Taxes are high where I live. We can not pay for every single thing we use additionally.
This page was once created from Germany for free. If this that and the next is added, then have paid for the additional, not for the main thing. I don't need it on phone. I don't need an additional page for each dog. You can do so if You please, all, but the main thing - Pedigrees, races, forum, classifieds and members health experiences etc should stay without charge.
You want the rehomers in the boat, but the same time want the money for every klick?
That just would not work.

Hi Monika, Germany has now been updated to Euro.

Monika, yes it was created as a free website but as it grew it cost more to run also Gunnar was an I.T. person as was his wife Anja and his sister Gwen so they had no I.T. bills to pay. They still reached a point where the website was unaffordable and was being sold. When we purchased the website there was 98,000 members today there is 234,000. The number of dogs, races, pedigrees, adoption groups added has increased 3 fold.

So please tell me who should pay for the website if not the people using it.

Without the Greyhound-Data team doing hours upon hours of voluntary work, the paid members and the advertising this website would have closed years ago. These people are the real hero's of the website and it is time for others to help.

The real heroes? Wouldve been the people back in the day spending hours adding dogs to the dbase without them you aint got a cracker mate, and old mate up the list their talking about pay per use on a forum that shoots down as many opinions as it lifts up please 🤦🏻‍♂️

Happily Ill pay to use the test matings no drama but this has a
Serious sniff of Global Greyhounds about it! All the very best though.

Brett, Many, many people have contributed and yes without them the website would not be here today. That is why we gave out over 100 gold memberships for life to thank people. Also it should be remembered we purchased the website, it was not given to us so we also have contributed to keeping the website alive.

We are not trying to make millions we are simply trying to pay the bills. The heading of this thread is Test Mating for Paid Members Only. All other suggestions are from members who are trying to ensure the websites future.

If Jason and I wanted to make big money we would simply sell the website. Global Greyhounds obviously reached the same point where we are now that funds are needed to keep afloat and move forward. We are hoping the greyhound world will get behind us and GD will be here for generations to come.

You know, I am not against giving something every now and then as I can, Tony, but most new things which have grown the website, aren't useful for me and will still push up the costs You have with it.

I tried to get the Membership thing done, but I don't get an answer from the machine?

Surely its not going to send anyone to the poor house.

So You might understand my problem right in Your own sentence: Global Greyhounds would be the next page to pay for, If I want to join.
There are hundreds out there which want my money - where should I take all these Dollars from?

Everyone with a financial output of these websites might just say: Yes, I put something in and get much more out. But what is with the others? I pay my own forum never asked anyone to help out and to be fair, it is small and petty, not to be compared.
I really don't want to argue and sincerely hope, You don't get me wrong, it is just everyone asks for something while I myself as a little someone will in the end (as thousands of others) be kicked out of the game, as unable to pay for all these single pages separate.
That said, I still appreciate the Greyhound Data and Yes, I will try my best to be a sort of member I can afford. If I get it working. Just hope You keep all those with less income in mind when thinking about changes.
Tnx
