The story unfolded a couple of hours ago.

Greyhound-Data received this email:

"We found a Grey hound can you guide us in what we should do. possibly finding the owner?
thank you"

My reply:

"Can you tell us what country you are in? and if you have found the owner yet."

Their response:

"Hi we have not found the owner we are USA. Fresno Ca county. I have got in contact with a greyhound rescue/adopt center. They are going to help us in what to do. They may even come pick her up. Her tattoos are 68B. 72561. We where looking for her owner hopefully or info where she was adopted"

My answer:

Hi Shelly,

"Please see the attached which is all the information we have on the Greyhound you found. Her name is Prom Queen according to her ear brands. (the attachment included the kennels name, DOB, Trainers name etc.)

I hope this helps,"

Answer:

"Thank you:)). The greyhound rescue is really working with us now. Im so thankful there is info on her I appreciate the conformation. Of info about her"

I would like to thank Shelly Laris for taking the time to ensure this greyhounds safety and ensuring the greyhound finds its way back to its owners. Well done Shelly!

It is also good to see all the details our members and team have put on GD help to make a difference in the "real" world.

Great work Tony

Having a database of all greyhounds born worldwide is imperative in the protection and the ongoing existence of the breed as evidenced by the above example
