You can go on with all your distracting BS. I say again, this litter shouldn't be bred. If you wouldn't breed the litter yourself, why would you talk it up or recommend it?

G'day Ron

I absolutely loved Royal Assassin. His pedigree is outstanding and I don't believe he was an 'ordinary' sire.

Back in the day I put the broodbitch 'Crowea' to him and it was a good litter.
One dog in particular was exceptional;

One major rule about breeding......there are no rules or boundaries.

You can definitely put the odds in your favour......but that doesn't always work either.

Sorry Ron, but why you would a 25 year old sire who was only ordinary when he was alive, to a bitch who ran last in a squib race at Ipswich in her only start, is beyond me. Sorry for being harsh, but fair dinkum.

Yes but no. She was in the market and with a respected trainer her one start so must've had some ability and definitely had some ability if they're talking breeding with her

But personally as much as Royal assassin is a gun I'd be thinking elsewhere trying to tap into her damline

RA was most definitely ordinary and that's being nice. Time has well and truly moved on from sires like him. Besides that Crowea was a far better bitch from a better line, than the one Ron's mate is thinking of using. I honestly thought Greyhounds Queensland had protocols in place preventing such ordinary bitches being used. I remember a few years ago Steve Martin was knocked back from allowing his bitch being used a 3rd time and she was a quality bitch.

Dixie, how do you know that the bitch was useless. Maybe she broke in city class, trialled the house down and broke down in her first and only start. Or do you know the whole story. I just think you jump off the bridge before you look to see where youre going to land. JMO. Cheers

If we breed with every bitch who ran a good first sectional before breaking down at her first start, from a favourable box. To a FS sire we find leftover in the Tuckerbox freezer from 20 years ago, we are doomed as an industry.

Yep , youre dead right Dixie, the industry will definitely be over if this mating takes place. Stop Ron , dont do it for the sake of all greyhound participants including Dixie ,who I think still owns a dog. He is right, a genius, magician, and should be taken seriously on this matter. The welfare issues around rehoming dogs from overbreeding to dreamy sires will not compare to the repercussions of this mating. Cheers

Thanks guys. But I didn't think this topic would turn into a verbal south. Yes the bitch was quick. Yes leading at first start and broke down. The bitch line has produced the group 3 Nowra Puppy winner and favourite for the National Derby. He to broke down in that final. The dog was Spritely Dancer. Also Smooth Blend the winner of the last Canberra Cup. He also ran 29.68 at Wenty. Also in the bitch line was Licence to Dance 29.80 Wenty winner back in the day and once the Canberra track record holder. There's a few more to mention but gentlemen there's no reason to behave like kids over a topic. Take care Train or breed plenty of winners. Remember this about breeding. A champ to a champ can produce a dud. Thanks

Hey Ron, didnt mean to cause a brew ha ha, just dont appreciate people being disrespectful and opinionated when they dont know the full story and as suspected the bitch wasnt useless as stated. Hope you use your RA straw and good luck with the mating. I will be defensive if someone is being disrespectful and dont feel that any of MY comments were childish. Cheers
