I gauge my opinion mainly seeing what a stud dogs offspring are like in the rearing yards, but also a mixture of the sires racing patterns, their offspings racing patterns and just word of mouth around the tracks

As stupid as it sounds with his record I'm not convinced on Hooked On Scotch. But I'm more than happy to be wrong and if his offspring have good temperaments and good attributes regarding chase I'll be 1st in line to use him

I've changed my mind with Hooked On Scotch. The reports on his pups chase and tempraments already are enough to convince me he'll go alright at stud

And I might be reading it completely wrong, but I feel he has similar bloodlines to Aston Dee Bee but with more stamina. That's got to set him up as a big stud prospect

Vince a Bella is due to whelp at the end of the month to HOS & a belly full is on the cards scan indicates min of 6.
She is following in her dam My Lady Day footsteps & Ron Marsden comments on that HOS litter is already recorded.
Bella never raced although she broke in ok, as a pup she injured a back leg which required a screw insertion & we found although she never lost a trial she on jumping worked her way up the track & went around the outside fence.
She is only 27 months young but has an old head on young shoulders & mature as, you can do anything with her that you could with a veteran racer, we also let her miss her first season & she is a beautifully put together bitch out of the good Fernando litter.
Another Queensland whelping at Dan Henrys planned.

Vince a Bellas big day was Sunday & resulted in a litter of 10 to Hooked on Scotch2 boys & 8 girls.

Looks like we might have a DUN who also appears to have a ridgeback with the hair line running from between ears to tail but.

Very different, nice litter a credit to a young mum.

On what I've seen and heard his pups are a good solid build with leg under them, will chase a toy, don't brawl constantly and don't stand at the gate barking but also aren't timid in any way.

That's a lot more than I can say about a lot of sires

Robynne you may be better contacting some of the breeders directly - This is the link to Fasttrack detailing all his mating's thus far.

I believe you are in QLD - there are a couple of QLD breeders on the list with some of his oldest pups. Maybe they will let you see them.

Good luck
Nick

Hi Robynne - I have a litter of 4 by HOS. They are almost 9 months and all so different in temperament. One a little 26 kg bitch is a real pocket rocket - very confident and into everything. The other bitch is a great size and already 29 kgs and the brains of the tribe - very good to handle and already hops in the scales, onto walking machine and leads beautifully. The two males are huge at 9 months - both 37 kgs+ and very rangy. One is a bit of a doofus but outgoing in nature while the other is on the shy side being handled - needs coaxing - but can gallop so will be interesting to see how he develops and handles education next year. Hope this help. Cheers

Hi Bronwyn , Thank you so much for your reply ! That sounds good except for the boys weights - my girl had 2 brothers near 40kg. Was the dam of yours a big girl herself or do you think size came from HOS ?

There mum (Serene Machine) raced at around 27-28 kgs but her litter sisters were up to 30 kgs. Im not too worried as I have another dog we race that was a big pup growing out and he races at 37 kgs but hes a handy dog and has won 23 races. Hopefully these big babies will slow down soon. Maybe its time I put them on rations as they get very well fed😁.
