I recently put up under the heading of Peoples Opinions but this is obviously nothing out of the ordinary as Ive had stuff all replies. So what is breeding outside the square. Have a great weekend. Cheers

Was yours the magic sprite mating with a lot of Brett Lee close up?

No one is brave enough to give their opinion on greyhound data anymore because if you have a differing opinion to someone else your opinion must be wrong so it gets shot down. And your opinion just gets deleted if it's on a diamond membership topic and isn't promoting a sire (or whatever the topic is)

CLICK HERE More opinions Please for Michael

I can see the theory with going with bit chili and no one can say it wouldn't be outside the square, but it's too close for my liking. I'd be sticking somewhat to boring and going with a son of Fernando bale

I wld like to see the intensity Chili Berger wld create with a sire that was previously successful with that damline just as a starting point b4 I cld justify attempting that mating Michael.

Creating vigour within a pedigree in this manner by using different individuals to recreate a very high percentage of a sire that was previously successful with this line, gives you hope of reproducing say a Double Twist type, if the mating nicks.

For ex CLICK HERE - as you can see not much cross duplication there at face value.

That doesn't mean Chili Berger wldn't nick with another sire that was previously successful with that line. I wld need to go thru them all in this manner, once again to justify putting Bit Chili over her and that's just a starting point. Cheers.

G'day Michael

Maybe 'outside the square'...but my choice would be BERNARDO.
He is putting stamina into his offspring......and has already produced a Group 2 winner in Dr Tucker (Great Chase) from only 5 litters racing.

Dr Tucker is out of a Barcia Bale bitch (Dr Dawn). Dr Dawn was a handy bitch....but no world beater. 42 starts for 8-6-1.
Bernardo is also very reasonably priced....and won't break the bank.

Good luck whichever way you decide to go.

My brother has a litter due any day to Bit Chilli out of a High Earner bitch from the Bling line. Using Bit Chilli is a bit left field these days, but the cross definitely works.
CLICK HERE
And Ill be using Bernardo over my Aston Dee Bee bitch when she comes on season after sustaining a career ending injury at only her 7th start.

Kade,

When you say the cross definitely works, what do you mean by that?

nothing wrong with this thinking however when you try to improve a really top dogs pedigree you don't have much of a window to do that..........in this case High Earner and Dyna Lachlan has been added to Walk Hard's ped (I think from memory), so it's different by quite a way even tho the sire and the damline are the same, therefore still a chance of beeding something that can run.............if however you incorporate the same thought process to say a hard chasing grade 5 type and improve its pedigree by adding whoever is relevant, your window for reaping success is all of a sudden much wider.

a top grp dog named Fedex was bred in this manner improving the pedigree of a grade 5 chaser named Jumbo from the same damline which when adding Spiral Nikita's sister to Jumbo's pedigree resulted in Fedex.......Spiral Nikita was arguably the best dog racing in Ireland at one time.

Inside - https:/ CLICK HERE

Outside - https:/ CLICK HERE

The latter litter 94 wins / PM $240,000 from a dog (Ice Trucker) that won from 300-400m and a dam (Senorita Abbi) who won 3 from 27 Shep, Bulli, Rich - PM $7,000

But, both inside and outside matings share the same pedigree nick! As other examples in this topic have been shown to do the same thing:-

(Little Denver / Frosty Friday)
(Worth Doing, Farmer Wilson / Rapid Journey, Chicago Blue)
(Zipping Bailey / Off And On)

As the above examples show. You absolutely can get an elite result by putting the same mix of ingredients together in a pedigree. Whether that be from a commercial or non-commercial sire. As its the potency of the mix of genes that delivers the elite result!! Afterall, many a brood has thrown stars to non-commercial studs and duds to commercial sires.

Another example...crossing Awesome Assassin and Irish dog Ardfert Sean
