New to this game......but interested if anyone has an opinion on this mating..

Zipping Garth x Temerity

https:/ CLICK HERE

I like the positioning of Malfoy, and the occurrence of Big Daddy Cool in top and bottom of the pedigree,

Appreciate any thoughts.

A no from me as there is way to much line breeding to non chasing / quirky dogs in Big Daddy Cool and Token Prince.

Hi Terre
Your damline is a well known Queensland potent damline
( Breeder Paddy Fitch )

The line still going well in Queensland. I suggest you checkout your dam half sisters and their sire directions

https:/ CLICK HERE
Magic Sprite and Pure Octane cross produced well

https:/ CLICK HERE
https:/ CLICK HERE
Magic Sprite straws I think a few still around for sale

https:/ CLICK HERE Line bred 2X4 Sobbing Sal

Terre you are new to game. So I suggest / recommend you get a pedigree by design from D Brasch

Good luck Terre

Thx Graham
It was the 5x4 Sobbing Sal, and 4 x 3 Malfoy that interested me in the Zipping Garth mating.
I know that it's pretty intense linebreeding.

I had noticed the success of Pure Octane and Magic Sprite to produce Temerity's sisters, and often wondered what happened to Simpatico, 4th to Dyna Double One in Brisbane Cup.
Malfoy wasn't a dog I was famiar with, but research shows him quite successful, and no 1 in producing Group 1 dogs (1 in 63, from memory)
That's what swayed me in finish.

Malfoy IMO was a huge loss to Aust breeders, his champion son Dashing Corsair arguably didnt get the bitches he deserved. Reality is the Waverley Supreme Sire line has dwindled/ dead. Token Prince Pure Octane end of the sire line.

https:/ CLICK HERE
Your damline ignited with Fifi shes Not.
You will see no Waverley Supreme/ Newdown Heather
Ignited by Temlee sire strain Pretty Fearless and the damline was highly potent

You should also consider. Lot of strength in this pedigree

https:/ CLICK HERE
Another good pedigree IMO. Note the sons of Phantom Flash lined up 4th generation.

Terre you have much better choices. Malfoy Malawi Waverley did not ignite your damline they enhanced and provided proven compatible X

Wow...just finished reading the "Outside the Square" topic.

Lots to learn here!

Temerity....it looks to me that one problem I face is the fact that, according to Greyhound-data database, no daughter of Dashing Corsair has ever thrown a winner.

Now there's a challenge.

It's not much but there's a few daughters who produced winners

Your bitch looks suited to a outcross sire

Terre, A simple question that I think all breeders need to answer is ,would you buy a pup from this litter? Not me .

Ok.....thanks for your opinion Jack.
So it seems no one thinks that the Zipping Garth x Temerity mating would be exceptional, unless...unless that magical "fluke" occurs.
I think I understand some of the reasoning.
1 I placed the positioning of Malfoy and Big Daddy Cool as high points,
I now think that the Sobbing Sal positioning is probably more important.
And..there is little to support it.
Temerity is untried...Zipping Garth is untried....not much to work on there.
Dashing Corsair not been riproriously successful, nor his progeny.
Of note...his most successful family is related to Zipping Garth. (Not that they are hugely successful)
All the dam lines are strong, but there is no evidence of a successful niche present.

So.....

I now lean Graham's way....and lean toward Magic Sprite x Temerity.
Peruzzi, a half sister by Magic Sprite, and litter sister to Simpatico, threw 8/8 winners to Premier Boloney.
A mating with Pure Octane (Absolute Style) gave us La Sirenuse and Terrific Style..both successful as racers, and at stud.
So...if...if..if...I were to use Temerity, it would seem logical to put her to Magic Sprite (or a son of) or Pure Octane (not many sons of around)
That way we might create a likeness of Peruzzi, Simpatico or La Sirenuse, Terrific Style.
Then we might have a brood to progress the female line.
It is sad that Peruzzi died after her second litter to Prince Diablo, which will be racing soon.
Any thoughts this reasoning?

Or have I learned nothing yet?

I'd strongly recommend Aston Dee Bee.
https:/ CLICK HERE
From my experience his progeny are hard chasing, easy to handleand have plenty of speed.

He's now a proven sire and the mating gives you a really well balanced pedigree
