Thank You Sandro.

We are very excited to have this fella enter our kennels he has settled in brilliantly.
One of his strong points was that he was such a dynamic chaser, he never gave in, and he could run freakish times even on trial days. For Instance he went 25.4's at warragul and 33.49 at sandown comfortably breaking the track record

Kel has had plenty of interest since he injured himself and one of his first bitches looks to be Never Duplicated.

appreciate all the support, please see below a write up from David Brasch :-

Houdini Boy at stud

VICTORIAN trainer Kel Greenough has prepared enough superstar greyhounds in his lifetime to know when he has stumbled upon yet another.
Greenough has prepared some of the greats including hall of famer Cindeen Shelby. When he speaks, people listen.
So, when Greenough raves long and hard about the ability of HOUDINI BOY he means what he says.
Greenough trained HOUDINI BOY (Zambora Brockie-Pechey by Magic Sprite) for owner Mark Ruff, but also prepared his mother Pechey, and his Group 1 winning granddam So Seductive.
Greenough has the highest of "wraps" on HOUDINI BOY and is not surprised by the huge interest in him from broodbitch owners.
"Everyone knows what he was able to run over 400 metres, 500 metres and then 600 metres," said Greenough. Those times showed he had ridiculous speed."
He ran a scorching 33.76 over 595m at Sandown to prove Greenough's point.
"It makes him greatly appealing as a stud dog."
And that's what HOUDINI BOY has just become ... retired to stud with Nicholas De La Roche at Newhaven Stud where he will stand for a fee of $1980.
He joins other Group 1 stars Get It Gizmo, Flynn, and proven Group sire Moreira at the stud.
Multiple Group 1 winner HOUDINI BOY started just 28 times for 14 wins, 10 placings and earned $267,000 in stakes.
The dog broke a hock late in February in a Group 1 final and was operated on a few days later.
"His chances of getting back to the track were always remote," admitted Greenough. "The bone fracture healed perfectly, but the problem was he damaged the tendon holding it together."
Greenough was instantly overwhelmed by the response from broodbitch owners to use him at stud.
Greenough knows only too well those broodbitches owners also knew only too well the speed HOUDINI BOY possessed.
He and studmaster De La Roche have every reason to believe the dog will not only be well patronised but a great success.
HOUDINI BOY was a multiple Group 1 winner of the Sale Cup and Zoom Top.
He also won the Speed Star 600m, was third in the Group 1 Bold Trease and a finalist in the Group 1 Vic Peters (at his tenth race start) and Super Stayers.
What is so special about those performances is that HOUDINI BOY did all that in just 10 months on the racetrack. His best was yet to come. He had not even turned three before he was retired.
He is a son of hugely successful sire Zambora Brockie and the Magic Sprite-So Seductive bitch Pechey a Sandown and Meadows winner and daughter of Group 1 Bold Trease winner So Seductive.
HOUDINI BOY is the obvious standout of his litter, but his five littermates were all multiple winners.
His dam Pechey won seven of her 23 races, six at Sandown, the other at The Meadows. She won in 29.44 at Sandown.
HOUDINI BOY's granddam, So Seductive (Go Wild Teddy-Smiles Are Free), won 20 races and earned $219,000. As well as her Bold Trease victory, she won the G2 Dillon Memorial and set a Sandown distance track record.
That's a pretty good damline to boast.
Sire, Zambora Brockie, was something special on the track and has followed that up at stud where he is a special sire ... a huge alternative to the dominance of Barcia Bale and Fernando Bale.
HOUDINI BOY is Zambora Brockie's standout Group 1 performer, but he is also the sire of Velocity Bettina (G3 Golden Sands, G3 Super Stayers, the Listed Dashing Corsair, Ips Futurity, Alb Pk 41.64, 2nd G1 Qld Cup, finalist G1 Rookie Rebel, G2 Qld Futurity, G3 Ips Gold Cup), littermates Stinger Noir (Qld final Nat Sprint, multiple Group finalist), No Easy Beat (29.60 Alb Pk), Sequana (2nd G3 Golden Ticket, 3rd Ips Futurity, 29.78 Alb Pk, finalist G2 Qld Futurity), as well as Zambora Lou (G3 Hville Cup, finalist G2 Horsham Cup), Zambora Smokey (G2 Wbool Cup, finalist G1 Maturity), Rio Valienti (G3 Ips Auction) etc.
HOUDINI BOY is bred on the highly successful Zambora Brockie/Magic Sprite cross. It puts in both pace and stamina, and dynamic chase.
Nicholas De La Roche jumped at the chance to get HOUDINI BOY at stud knowing only too well his lightning ability, chase and pedigree credentials.
And, Nick could see the golden opportunity HOUDINI BOY has to link up with numerous lines available to him throughout the country to become a top class sire.
So, just what bitch lines will suit HOUDINI BOY?
The fact both Zambora Brockie and Magic Sprite (both found in HOUDINI BOY) already have a hugely proven "nick" with Barcia Bale means any daughter of this great stud dog will perfectly suit. With the great number of daughters of Barcia Bale available throughout the country, if HOUDINI BOY never mated another bitch other than those by Barcia Bale, it would not matter.
HOUDINI BOY has a cross of Go Wild Teddy in his direct damline, sire of his second mother. This allows for perfect matches to bitches that carry Go Wild Teddy through a SON. Examples of this include Barcia Bale, of course, and his son Dyna Double One, as well as close relation Dyna Lachlan.
Barcia Bale's champion son Aston Dee Bee, already proving a stud success, will be a key for HOUDINI BOY. His daughters will also be valuable asset for HOUDINI BOY's stud career. They will introduce a duplication and balance of Bombastic Shiraz and this is proving a great success with Aston Dee Bee.
Undertaking this cross, in reverse, should work out fine when putting daughters of Aston Dee Bee to HOUDINI BOY.
Bitches who carry El Grand Senor could also suit HOUDINI BOY. That's because his second dam So Seductive was mated to El Grand Senor to produce a successful litter that included Bunga Bunga. That bitch has since gone on to produce a handy litter by US stud great SH Avatar ... another source of matings for HOUDINI BOY.
Go Wild Teddy, sire of HOUDINI BOY's second dam, has much in common with Collision, so potential matings of bitches with Collision, and his close relation Cosmic Rumble, also appeal. Collision and Cosmic Rumble have both crossed extremely well with Fernando Bale. Bitches bred on this cross should be tested with HOUDINI BOY.
An extremely interesting potential mating for HOUDINI BOY could come via daughters of Worm Burner. They are noted for their chase and strength, but Worm Burner's wonderful damline has already done exceptionally well when linked to Nitro Burst the grandsire of HOUDINI BOY.
Worm Burner's sire, Oaks Road, is bred identically to Magic Sprite the damsire of HOUDINI BOY. Bitches by Worm Burner hugely appeal as mates for HOUDINI BOY.
Another interesting cross could come via bitches with Glen Gallon. His is a son of US race great Flying Stanley who is found as the damsire of Zambora Brockie. AND, Glen Gallon will bring in a cross of Bombastic Shiraz in his damline to duplicate this great influence.
Look closely and you will see HOUDINI BOY carries no Where's Pedro or his litter brother Hallucinate. HOUDINI BOY is crying out for bitches with these two stud greats. Barcia Bale, of course, has Hallucinate as his damsire. But, daughters of My Bro Fabio, whose damsire if Where's Pedro, is another who could be tested with HOUDINI BOY.
HOUDINI BOY is devoid of any Wheeler bloodlines. With the huge impression dogs like Barcia Bale, Fernando Bale, Dyna Double One, Dyna Villa, Dyna Tron etc have on bloodlines, it also makes sense for their daughters to be introduced to HOUDINI BOY.
Outcross lines too will suit HOUDINI BOY.
Bitches with Premier Fantasy in their make-up could suit him. Premier Fantasy carries a close link to Rikasso Lassie in Zambora Brockie's damline.
Whichever way we look at HOUDINI BOY gets his chance at stud and his opportunities are limitless.

"Unfortunately" going on past stayers that went to stud in Australia, may well struggle to get the numbers. Hope he is an exception.

NO speed early "in a field". PLENTY run fast times 'solo'. Have studied the best breeders for over 30 years. The best cross to Houdini is "quick" beginning short course bitches with double cross when mated to Magic Sprite on the 3rd remove.

Houdini Boy is perfect for short course bitches to gain some stamina in the pups. BUT you still "need" SPEED from sires like Magic Sprite & Go Wild Teddy ect.

Put you girl to Houdini when match up like that you "increase" your chances of good beginning pups that will run 500m.

Mind you saying all this Houdini Boy is not the only choice you have & also if your girl is unproven & your looking to sell the pups you need to look at all your the options.

Nicholas you may have to add an incentive to attract bitches (especially top class & or proven) as history shows stayers do not get the numbers.
