| Hi. In recent times I don't see many Fernando Bales bitches racing. There is plenty of males and rarely any females. That's in Sydney and Melbourne. Makes me wonder why? He certainly throws his share of winners, just wondering are they mainly males. What are the best females he has thrown?

Hi Adam This has been discussed previously and always ends prematurely due to nothing less then ignorance , disappointing really as good or bad information even if only opinionated, can lead to an answer or at least guidance for someone . He was a top if not the best chaser ever seen , he throws champions also ! No one denies these qualities and achievements Personally we have all seen and heard them that much it really doesnt need to be echoed to a point where it turns from due accolades to blatant stupidity and glorification...... heres why and maybe an answer to your question Adam Why ? He does all the things mentioned above like all the great sires , he also has some awful flaws in his offspring , also like every sire ! Having reared offspring from 4 different broods (which is enough to get a fair judgment) the 2 worst habits or traits are 1.Size 2. Temperament One of these issues could imop cause or enhance the percentages in being detrimental more so to the female offspring as apposed to the males which are seemingly a suited weight or size for some of our tight turning small tracks ie Wenty , Gosford , Gardens and Dubbo Put them on one turn tracks or big tracks like Richmond , they become a lesser dog Ive said before a standard dog imop is 30-33kg , with Fernando this becomes 27-30kg This means in general the bitches have gone from 26-29kg to under 26 and well under , Ive even heard 21kg What happens now Adam is everyone likes to bring out the 1 champion bitch from 1970 that was 25kg and says it works ! And nothing wrong with this All Ill say is go get 10 bitches under 25 kg and see how well you fair on the circuit Coz you wont , and thats even with all the help of short course racing now Theyll get belted and broken and wont run 300 on average let alone make city and run 500 mtr even with the assistance of the Sydney city track favouring the smaller framed lid pinging runner Bad Temperament can stop any dog from reaching its peak I havent experienced a level headed calm natured pup yet from him . Cheeky , darting in and out (high edgy ) biting fingers , timid etc Do get better in time but with maturing Common sense for me Adam as to why his successors are so lopsided to one or the other ! And to why its more detrimental to the females Poeple point the finger at breeders for any detriment to the game or breed But theres more involved then that , starting from the office where races and grading gets decided down to breeders being cornered in their own market to what buyers only want ....... Fernando or Barcia And the winners are the big fellas with big numbers Cheers
